I have always been highly satisfied with Paul Thigpen GMC CHEVROLET in LaFayette, Ga., even in past situations. The first thing for which I want to complement, is that they have a short recorded message to get to the person you need and then - A REAL PERSON WHO CARES ANSWERS!!! That means sooo much to me!! This time, I was driving my 2011 Chevy Impala with over 225,000 miles on it and the warning suddenly came on, “‼️ ENGINE OVERHEATING! SHUT DOWN ENGINE IMMEDIATELY!” I pulled over and shut the engine down. I popped the hood and checked the overflow receptacle. It was almost empty. I waited for about 15 minutes and called Amanda in the service department. She told me to turn the key just to where I could see the Temp. It was back to normal. I was, PROVIDENTIALLY, only about 5 minutes away from the dealership! She told me to turn the heater on full blast and turn on the engine and drive straight there and as soon as I get there to turn off the engine immediately. This was the day before THANKSGIVING! Amanda checked the codes and it was not giving a definitive reply. She said a technician would have to check it out. Because my husband is dealing with cancer and could not drive to pick me up, Amanda kindly took me home! Because this was late Wednesday afternoon the day before Thanksgiving, it was a few days later before the techs were able to check out the car and find the issue. Amanda called and told me it was the water pump and gave me an estimate. This was about 9-10 am. I called my husband and he gave the OK. I called Amanda and gave the ‘THUMBS UP for the work and before 1:45, she called back to tell me they had it done and the price was exactly as quoted. When I came to pay for it, they had a really personable, pleasant, and efficient driver (wish I had gotten his name!) follow me home (which is only 15 minutes away) and I was able to ride back to the dealership with him in my now perfectly functioning IMPALA. The folks in the office have been there for a long time and are ALWAYS EXTREMELY POLITE AND HELPFUL! Amanda, in repair scheduling, is AMAZINGLY POLITE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL, and a BREATH OF FRESH AIR in a time when, at so many other places of business, Customer Service is a MISNOMER!!! I want to thank and praise all the fine technicians / mechanics and all the rest of the folks who make Paul THIGPEN Chevrolet GMC the excellent establishment IT IS!!! I can guarantee that when the time comes to get another car, we will be checking with them! (P.S. From past experience , the sales staff is also excellent.) The service crew under Mr.Martrell done a great job. Even though my Ford F250 was not purchased at PTF my routine maintenance and diagnosis of the other main problems were handled very professionally. I was treated with respect and helped at every opportunity. OUTFREAKINGSTANDING!!!!
