I purchased a 2020 M550i from BMW of Fort Lauderdale and experienced multiple critical failures in less than 10 days and fewer than 200 miles of driving. 1. Coolant Failure: The car developed a significant coolant leak immediately. Professional diagnosis at another BMW dealer confirmed a cracked expansion tank and degraded vent lines (documented in TSB SI B12 07 21). The repair is quoted at $3,400 plus $300 for coolant flush. This level of degradation should have been caught during any basic inspection, let alone on a car marketed as "CPO" on their website. 2. xDrive Negligence: Most concerningly, the dealer installed new rear tires (9mm) but left worn tires on the front (5mm). This 4mm variance violates BMW’s strict xDrive tolerance (max 2mm difference), which has caused transfer case shudder. This is a potential $7,000+ repair and it would have been better to just leave all four tires worn to prevent transfer case clutch damage. 3. Flex Disc Cracked: The vehicle was additionally sold with a cracked guibo which needed immediate replacement. 4. Lower Timing Cover Leaking Oil: An expensive oil leak was present and visible upon visual inspection that is pricy to repair. 5. Misleading Advertising & Zero Support: The vehicle was listed as "Certified Pre-Owned" (CPO) on their site, yet I discovered after purchase the coverage had expired. I have reached out to General Manager Keith Cordeiro to resolve this amicably but have been ignored. I am now thousands of dollars deep in repairs on a car I’ve barely driven for two weeks, and BMW of Fort Lauderdale has made no effort to help in any manner. If you buy from this dealer, I strongly recommend a third-party PPI that isn't from Specktion as they didn't make an effort to check the vehicle beyond simple measurements and exterior inspection.

This is a potential $7,000+ repair caused directly by the service department's failure to follow BMW’s own drivetrain standards. 3. Visiting this dealership was not the greatest experience. I waited around for 15 minutes and once the salesman finally got to me his attitude, body language and demeanor was very bad. Dealership wasn’t very busy so I’m not really sure why he took so long to help me. He never apologized for having a customer wait so long for service. I was accompanied with two other BMW customers. The three of us have been BMW owners for about 30 years. We have never experienced this type of negative customer service at any other BMW DEALERSHIPS. The bottom line is that I received subpar customer service at this particular BMW dealership.
Vehicle was not properly detailed. That's the least you can do. Claimed it was a CPO until it wasn't...this type of information factors into purchase decision. Overall attitude felt like take it or leave it instead of one where you were truly interested in building a long term customer relationship
As always, Tom Ignizio, my service advisor during the past 5 year's understands the meaning of treating his clients with respect, fairness and understanding.
Vehicle and customer enjoyed outstanding service courtesy of Scott Weinbaum, Carlos Espinoza and David Araujo.
