What Others Say
I took my Bronco in for an oil change mainly because they sold me an extended warranty that could be serviced through them.
Before that, another Ford dealership had taken a video showing my pinion seal leaking again — the same pinion seal Keith Hawthorne had already repaired. Keith Hawthorne said they couldn’t find a leak and that what was there was just dried oil.
A few days after the oil change, my low oil pressure warning came on. I had the Bronco towed back to them. They kept it for four days, couldn’t replicate the issue, and said no code had been stored. Then I was told I owed a diagnostic fee. I refused to pay a diagnostic fee for an oil pressure issue that happened just days after they performed the oil change.
I finally got the service manager to call me. He told me the “soft codes” were indicating that my battery was probably going bad. The problem with that explanation? They had just checked my battery during the oil change and marked it as GOOD.
So at this point, they couldn’t find the pinion seal leak another Ford dealership had on video, my battery is supposedly going bad even though they marked it good, and somehow it gets even better.
While they had my Bronco, my window button was broken. Instead of simply saying, “We broke it, we’ll fix it,” I was told they had to get confirmation that they were the ones who broke it.
Now my check engine light is on along with FOUR different alerts.
At this point, I have absolutely no confidence in this service department. I honestly wouldn’t feel comfortable having a Power Wheels serviced there.
I have purchased from the Keith Hawthorne Ford dealership in the past but the sales staff now is not the same. It is now one of the most dishonest, unprofessional, incompetent sales management teams I've ever dealt during a significant amount of car purchases. During a week of trying to purchase a new vehicle from them, I was offered 2 different vehicles that were sold out from under us. The second vehicle was even sold after we signed a buyers order, gave deposit info, submitted our credit app, set up a pick up appt and committed to selling our current vehicle. The dealership said they made a mistake in selling it but all evidence points to that they intentionally sold the vehicle because we were remote and the other buyer was local. Multiple sales managers promised to make it right but after 2 days of broken promises, failing to call us back, offering comparable vehicles that were over $3K more, and failing to take any real responsibility for their actions, we decided to give up on this dealership and never use them again. What's the point of having a signed buyers order agreement if the dealer can do this to their customers? Thats dirty tactics and we will be taking every action we can to ensure this dealership gets held accountable but wanted to give this review now to warn others. If a dealership will screw over a customer that has a signed agreement, acknowledge they did it without any sign of remorse, or attempt to fix the situation, what else will they do? Especially if no one is looking or knows about it. They didn't seem to care or even try to really fix the situation. From not even getting close with an offer on a comparable vehicle to not calling us back when promised, it was obvious they were okay with screwing us over without a resolution. One supposed sales manager Chris even had the nerve to say he couldn't check the mileage on a service vehicle during a 2 day period they were "trying to find us a option" because the service department is on on the other side of the building? This whole sales management team should be let go immediately if the ownership cares about its reputation. Until then, Stay away from Keith Hawthorne Ford...mtf on this
