Guru Auto in Easton is an awful dealership that will say and do anything to get the sale. I bought a Honda Civic from them 1 year ago. It was my first experience buying a used car, so I didn’t know what to expect, and I needed a car ASAP at that point. When I went in, they kept telling me about how it was such a great deal for this car and how it wouldn’t last much longer with their current “discounted pricing.” I went through the process to purchase the car and was told that it had just passed the state inspection and emissions test the previous week and was all set to go. My fatal flaw was taking their word for it and trusting them to sell me a quality car that had passed inspection. Obviously, they paid off whoever did the inspection because there’s no way it could have passed in that condition. In the year since purchasing the car, I have only put about 4,000 miles on the car (now at 115,000 miles), yet the power locks suddenly stopped working, the immobilizer system broke, and the tires have needed replaced because they were mysteriously dry rotted and had no tread despite being brand new tires when I test drove the vehicle. In addition, the battery needed replaced because there was an after-market alarm on the car that drained the battery, the rear brake shoes needed replaced, and I had to replace the timing belt, the water pump, the power steering belt, and the a/c and alternator belt… plus the radio and clock mysteriously died. Oh… and the driver’s seat had to be bolted back to the car because it was ready to come off, which likely would have caused a horrendous accident. You’d be far better off going elsewhere because Guru has abysmal customer service, and it sells junk cars. In total, I have now spent about $2,600 in repairs in the past year.
The reason why I am giving this rating is because I think that Guru Auto World is a great place to get a car. Amy was very nice and a great help. I would recommend this place to anyone.
I was referred by one of my co-workers. I went to several other car dealers in the Easton area. Amy & Shaheed were very welcoming & plesant. I truly believe if you as a customer are there to spend your money on a car the customer service reps such be outstanding. Well Amy & Shaheed beat the expectations by far. I am very pleased with my New vehicle, warranty, & payments. I will definitly recommend GURU AUTO to each & every person I know or whomever is searching for a vechicle.
I was very satisifed for the first week after my purchase, but the two months since (and still counting) has been a major annjoyance. I bought a car at the end of March and left the lot happy with my car and experience I just had received. However, one minor issue was that there was a chip in my windshield that Guru Auto assured me they would have taken care of within the next week or two. Since I lived in southern New Jersey, the agreement was they would arrange for a company to come fill in the chip. I called about two weeks later because I had not received any follow up about it and was assured again that it was being taken care of very shortly. Long story short, I have made about 6 inquiries about this over the past two months and have gotten the same passive response each time. My most recent dealing with this included the sales person to have the nerve to have an annoyed tone on the phone with me. I instantly informed him he needs to change his attitude when dealing with customers. My issues do not end with a chipped windshield. I have already had to request two additional temporary license plates because of them expiring. Each time I call about what I am waiting on to put on permanent tags I am told they will reach out to motor vehicles and find out the problem and call me back. I only get an update when I call back days later. Again, nothing has ever changed and the response is always that the registration is coming in the mail shortly, but it never arrives. My third issue is something that has come up recently. I traded in a car as part of the transaction of buying the current car. They got a payoff from Wells Fargo to do a payoff and take over my car. I have just received a statement in the mail from Wells Fargo along with a past due notice from my previous payment that is unpaid. I called Wells Fargo to ask about the problem and inform them I had traded in my car. They had no record of Guru doing a payoff and that I would need to talk with them about what the issue is and where there is a hold up. I called Guru just this morning to discuss all the issues I have described and Guru gave me another generic response and said "We'll look into it and call you back." I have been incredibly patient throughout this whole process but I feel like they are taking advantage of my calmness and keep my issues on the backburner. I should not have to make a weekly call with this dealership for two months.
I see that there are quite a few negative reviews on this site, and to be honest, a month ago, I would have been one of them. When we purchased our car from Guru Auto World they had a completely different staff who were not friendly, knowledgeable or customer focused.
The car we purchased ended up having multiple problems and I went into Guru to address these problems and find out what they were going to do about it. I honestly expected to have to fight and argue, but was pleasantly surprised.
I found that they had replaced their entire staff and Amy really turned the place around. She was pleasant, helpful and very interested in ensuring that we were satisfied with our experience. She agreed to purchase the vehicle back from us and find another car for us that would meet our requirements.
I brought in the old car and told them I wouldn't pay for anymore repairs and we needed another car to get us to and from work... no problem; Amy arranged for us to take a loner car and took care of the repair bills.
We are now very happy with our 2006 Audi. It's beautiful and runs well.
Now that Guru has replaced their staff with knowledgable, and customer oriented employees, I would recommend them, but mostly, I recommend you ask for Amy!
I have visited Guru Auto a few fmes in the past, but never purchased a vehicle from them. I found the staff to be less than a little knowledgeable of their vehicles and financing options. All I got was attitude. WELL...recently my friend bought a car from Guru. She said her experience was informative and pleasurable. So... I decided to stop in on her recommendation. I asked for Amy, that's who helped my friend with her purchase. I was pleasantly surprised with her friendliness and knowledge when it came to the vehicles on the lot, my financing options as well as getting me an excellent warranty to last as long as my loan for only a few more dollars a month. I never left a dealership this informed as I did this day I love my car and would recommend anyone to go to Guru and ask for Amy. If anyone can help you, she can. It's obvious to me she loves what she does and is happy to pass that passion for what she does on to her customers.
