What Others Say

I have been going to Chatham Ford for service since summer of 2024. I have a $110k dollar truck. I brought it there to get a check engine light diagnosis. It was misdiagnosed as “spark plugs”. Costing me around $1200. Left the lot drove about 20 miles before the light came back on. Brought it back to be told I need an entire new engine on my very low mile truck. No refund on the misdiagnosis. Instead I am told “You can use them in 45k miles”. Who’s to even say I’ll have this in that time! I let it go. The engine parts took between 4-5 months for everything. This is with me having to call Ford to get these parts expedited, no urgency from the dealer. Finally get my truck back after it was had to be completely taken apart as show in the photos. The entire electrical system had to be reconnected/reconfigured. I get my truck back to have my check engine light come on RIGHT AWAY! And 15-20 times following the new engine replacement. The engine replacement was not done correctly or completely. While having my truck they put well over 1000 miles on it. I got it back with several electrical issues (still in place, never fixed). Got is back with blown rear socks, costing me $4100. Running boards electrical failed, tailgate handle not fully intact, running board lights hanging and never secured, light bar malfunctioning. None of these issues were present before this engine repair. They refused responsibility for all the issues. I have months of text exchanges with videos and photos with the service manager about every single issue from the day they touched my truck. I was extremely patient at first, until I wasn’t. Took my truck in for maybe the 14th check engine light for repair. While it was there I needed an oil change and new brakes and rotors. So I stupidly trusted them with this simple task. Front and back brakes and rotors (around $2200). Front left brake had an awful screech after install. Misdiagnosed as a “rock” in the rear. Brought in for FRONT LEFT. Second misdiagnosis as needed new brake pad and rotor under warranty. Replaced screech still present. THIRD MISDIAGNOSIS they replaced RIGHT caliper. Front LEFT still screeching. Go back in for maybe the 15th check engine light was diagnosed as an O2 sensor. Ordered it, part came in. They never called so my truck started misfiring and broke down as the sensor failed. This could have been avoided had they simply called to state the part was in and scheduled repair. Instead after 7 days of waiting it become a much bigger issue. I don’t blame the tech at this point. I blame Ford for not properly training their employees. I blame the lack of training for management as well. I called the services manager out on the countless xx, 45 min drives to the location, they replaced the engine and no other dealer wants that liability when they installed it poorly. No other dealer will fix the electrical without charging for it as CHATHAM is the cause of the issues. I replied to Ford with HONEST feedback and this upset Mr. Dario. He says “We don’t want to work on your truck anymore, take it somewhere else”. The general manager said if he had known when I first brought the truck, he would have advised me not to have my truck serviced by them. As they are not a place that is trained to work on any specialty vehicles. Side note Mike the service advisor is great asset and a valuable asset to your team. I hope one day he has Dario’s job.

Customer service is incredibly sub-par. Refused to drive me back from a service appointment I made with them where twice in the past they have had no problem driving be home from a vehicle drop off. Only until I talked to the Service Manager did he mention my previous ""bad review"" with them via a Ford Customer Service survey sent to me after they hacked together the bed lights purchased from, and installed by, their Ford Technicians. Come to find out I'm now getting different treatment as a customer for sharing my honest feedback with Ford... sounds criminal to me. I didn't know they could use my honest and objective feedback to a Ford survey to treat me badly as a customer, but I will no longer be filling out any survey sent to be from Ford in fear I will be denied service from Ford service centers.

Better prices elsewhere, so you buy elsewhere. Then you go for service, and they can't be bothered with you. A $400 battery change out (really. And its one of those things that you cant do yourself) isn't enough for them to be bothered with making sure your "check engine" light isn't on after they did the work. This also happened with an oil change. Forget about recall work.... that's only for cars in California. Are you taking your car to California? No? Then forget about it.

I used to LOVE Ford until I dealt with this dealership. They promise one thing and do something else...never again! Left in tears

Chatha Ford is 100% geared towards their customers. I bought from them several times and some change have to be made on my current purchase and they are working to make sure that happens.

They could stand behind the vehicles they sell!! Concealed damage (broken glass in between the panels of the hatchback door-not noticed right away because shutting the hatchback over time loosened and broke down the large pieces of glass into little shards and only THEN did we start hearing something strange when we opened the hatchback door) is comprising the hatchback door. The door does not stay shut due to the now very tiny pieces of glass that are getting stuck. Chatham Ford says they will fix it but there is a $100 deductible. Even if they did NOT know about the back window area when they sold us the car, they should at LEAST take care of it, because it had absolutely nothing to do with us!! We've only had the car for a few months. Manager (Chris) says he doesn't have the authority to waive the $100. Bull!
