We purchased a 2024 Mazda CX-5 on 3/26/2026. We initially viewed the CX-5 the day prior and returned the following day to test drive and make purchase. Robert said the car would be detailed prior to our returning and he went over the basics with us, newer tires, 2 key fobs, recent oil change. We returned 3-26-26 to test drive and make purchase. We were getting through the initial paperwork process and Robert hands me one key FOB which has written on the tag 1 of 2. I ask where is the second fob? He acts surprised and states they do not have the 2nd key FOB. I state that is an issue. We specifically confirmed the car came with two fobs the day prior. "He was going to let me walk out with only one key FOB". He said we would get through the sale and then they could see what they could do for us. We said we were not interested in the car with only one fob as the sale was based on two fobs. Robert had a discussion with his boss and told us "We will give you one for free?!" As if he was doing me a favor. So they agreed to have one made for no cost to us and it would be all taken care of and completed the following week. I would have to return to get it programmed the following week as the Key Guy was only there on Wednesday afternoons. We come back at the scheduled time and we sit in the lobby for a good 30 minutes before Robert explains that they can not complete key cutting and programing at the dealership and a new key needed to be cut in Kent and that would have to be shipped out (2 business days) and sent to the Preston Boardman Mazda dealership. The Preston Mazda dealership would then contact us to schedule to have us come back to have the key programed. We were disappointed to have made the trip and taken the time only to have to continue this endeavor. Robert said that Preston Mazda was "giving" us a whole new key fob. These things can run $6-800.00. Preston was doing us a favor. Someone should have been on top of this matter before having us drive 35 minutes, waiting for service, and then being told it was all for naught. We did not hear from Preston Mazda. We contacted Mazda 4-13-26, the key had been with them since the previous week, and made arrangements to have the service completed. "We did get the key FOB reprogrammed by Preston Mazda on 4/14/2026". I get the vehicle home and give the car a once over. I have attached the condition of the cabin and air filters. Absolutely, horrible. I will say that I am happy with the vehicle, but the level of professionalism lacks a great deal.
We never once felt pressured, they were very helpful and made us feel like we were they’re priority. Once we picked out our vehicle the process was quick and easy. I will definitely be back for our next purchase.
