What Others Say
1st of all, I was denied a loan three times because I wouldn't give a larger downpayment. My credit was good, so I couldn't understand why I was being denied. None of the sales persons would communicate with me and be out right. They just wanted more money down.
A new guy informed me that it was an old gap insurence issue . I owed them 95 bucks and had no idea I even had the darn bill. Then this guy tells me they see it as a 95 buck repo. Cool! I paid it. went back to get my car. I had 3 sales persons (New kid was there) tell me my current car was 14,500. which was the top of my budget but do able. As I was signing the contract noticed it said, 17,000. I thought, " I had three people tell me point blank this car was 14,500, so I guess the 17,000 was with interst," So I signed. A few weeks later I was checking my credit score and low and behold 21,000 is On my credit for my car. xxx ! They completely lied to me 3 times to my face! Since I already signed it I'm stuck with the price . I can't afford a lawyer or i would challenge this. Oh, and they gave my personal info (including SSN) to another customer ( by accident). They called me (customer) to inform me that they had my paperwork.
I LOVE my car, I don't trust them. Buyers be ware.
I orginally went to the new dealership in O'Fallon and they didn't even want to give me the time or day, kept passing me off like a hot potato. They all were rude except the last person I delt with (building closer to Target) The sales person directed me, kindly, to the bargon corner. When I trade in this car, I will be going to another dealership.
Please share.. boycott auffenberg.
I was told this place was shady but didn't listen to anyone and purchased a car here when mine was totaled. Within a month the check engine light went on. Those of you that don't have to do emissions may not think it's a big deal but when it could indicate a problem with the catalytic converter it becomes an expensive fix. I called multiple times with no response. Then it became clear the air conditioning only blew out to the temperature outside.. another huge issue that I called about and got no response. Then I was pulled over for illegal tint that could have gotten me a ticket or arrested but luckily she was kind and let give me a warning. I had to fight with the employees to get it taken off. My registration was sent to the wrong address so I was pulled over for expired tags when I didn't even know they were expired. The icing on the cake is when I went to the dealership and my salesman who is now a manager told me it was all my fault and the front desk person told me he was inappropriate for how he spoke to me. Then met with his manager and apparently they don't have to make sure the car is legal to drive and it's my fault for buying a car as is. Right now I'm looking at 3 to 5 thousand dollars of repair that I can't afford for a car that shouldn't have been sold in the first place... Facebook... do your thing and spread this because I'll be in their parking lot at every chance I get to make sure they never do this again
I went in to purchase a 2019 Seirra 1500 Denali, at the Nissan dealership, that had been sitting on their lot for 97 days. While in the process of buying I told their salesperson, Max, that I want a pre purchase inspection. He had an attitude about it and stared at me as if I was doing something wrong. Max stated that they had the vehicle inspected inside of their dealership so I let him know that I'd require an independent inspection. After him visibly being annoyed with my request he asked his manager and I was approved to get it inspected. I got an independent inspection and the results were the rotors needed to be spun or replaced and that the tires were all dry rotted. This means that the tires could fail at any time and were unsafe to drive. I let Max know about it and he said there was nothing they would do about it.
Auffenberg was perfectly fine with selling a customer a truck over $45,000 that was unfit to even be on the road. They do not care about their customers and it shows. Not only did they lose that sale they lost potential for any future sales. Disgusting excuse for customer service and total lack of caring for the safety of their customers. Clearly only looking for a sale.
I won't go back. We were looking for a car over president's day weekend. Saturday afternoon we made the 45 minute drive to see one car in particular only to be told when we got there nobody could find the keys, so no test drive. We were told we could buy the car without driving it but that we couldn't put money down on it to hold it. (I guess that's an Illinois law) Monday morning we called and told them we wanted the car and asked how to proceed. Salesperson told us that was great and would contact us when the car had completed detailing. Phone call that afternoon letting us know the front seats would need replacing, and was it okay if we couldn't pick it up until the 25th? We told them that would be fine and mentioned the banks were closed anyway that day. Understanding the no-hold policy but not wanting to go out again for nothing, and not having been told there was any reason to think the car was anything but ours, my husband rearranged his entire work schedule to be able to purchase the car Tuesday.
Got a text Monday night telling us the salesperson we'd been dealing with was no longer with the company. Called the GM as instructed to continue the sale, talked to him, everything was weird but fine.
Got a text Tuesday morning informing us the car had sold Monday night. No phone call, nothing personal, no apology. I understand they can't hold cars, but even a phone call Monday night would have been appreciated.
Poor, poor, poor customer service. We were even told with pride by one of the salespeople rationalizing their performance that "In Illinois one person's money is just as good as another's", which is a nice thought but makes little sense here except to reinforce the feeling they really only view you as a wallet. I would have liked to have responded "In Missouri we don't try to sell you a car without keys for a test drive."
Meanwhile, we got a call an hour later from another dealership letting us know someone was interested in a car we'd looked at the same day, and wanting to know how serious we were in purchasing it before he told them it was available.
Oh. Got an email a few days later from Mr. Auffenberg looking for feedback on our experience. I detailed plainly what had happened and gave suggestions for what could have made the experience better. Crickets. Who knows if they even read those, so here I am.
Outstanding service from the moment I inquired about the used vehicle to my test drive, sales process & quick financing. You won’t find a better dealership!
