we bought our 2020 Kia Telluride in March, certified pre owned. Joe our sales person was great, easy to work with, and responsive. (the only good part about our entire experience) since our car is a certified pre owned it's supposed to come with 2 sets of keys, which they only had one. The person handling the sale and loan (Hany) who's since quit or fired told us since we live 4.5 hours away they would send us a key and have another Kia dealership program it for us, which was also stated by Joe our sales person.. the car had been there for over a month so a extra key should have been made previously. Then our license plates expire 4/25... to which they blame on us for unpaid taxes, that wouldn't have been owed if they were registered in time as well as lapse in insurance a month later, because we had gotten a new insurance and they had the old one on file... all of these were cleared up that day with DMV, sent to the manager... with no response besides "we will call you back" which they didn't. We called every single week to a point where they were ignoring our calls and we had to call from our children's phones. (which they deny) here it is June 9th and they say i will finally have my plates tomorrow June 10th.. we shall see.. I've been driving in this car for months, with my 6 children with expired plates praying we don't get pulled over. This has been the absolute worst experience buying a car we've ever endured. stay FAR away from them!

Absolutely horrible experience buying a car from this dealership. Would not recommend it to anyone. They are not helpful at all, there are all kinds of delays, no customer service and extremely rude behaviour when you have an issue that needs resolution. They hung up on me when they did not have answers to my genuine questions. There were too many hidden costs and no proper explanation. Seriously, steer clear from buying a car from this dealership.

I’ve had numerous issues with Performance Kia in Denville, NJ, but the latest one is the most outrageous. My 2019 Kia Sorento has been randomly not starting since January 1, 2024. I brought it in, and after keeping my vehicle for 3 days, they couldn’t find the problem. Then I received a letter from Kia America stating that the issue is related to the high-pressure fuel pump—clearly the reason why my car won't start. Despite this, Performance Kia refused to replace the part! I’m beyond frustrated, especially since it's extremely inconvenient and unsafe when your vehicle doesn’t start unexpectedly. What’s worse is that they let me leave their dealership with a car that could fail at any time, putting me and my children in danger. This is completely unacceptable and shows an alarming disregard for customer safety. I cannot recommend this service center and strongly urge others to reconsider taking their vehicle here.

Changed the name, but they sold me a car $4000 over sticker (something of a above manufacturer price?) Then they failed to refund my down payment, I had to call my bank to stop payment!

A horrible service organization, they don’t know how to treat customers! I’ve leased 5 cars here, but the new group in charge have no idea how to treat a good customer! Deceitful and dismissive once they have your money. Stay away!

Initially, it was a decent experience. Wide selection (although all Sorentos were fitted with the lines across each side of the car, which I did not want). Salesperson was friendly and helpful. Test drive was pleasant. Then we got the first offer from the dealership, marked up $4k above MSRP. For a Telluride, I might have expected that, but for a Sorento, not so much. We were friendly and tried to discuss this with the manager there. He was extremely insulting toward our thoughts, and decided to use traditional high pressure tactics, speaking with a loud voice and repeating, “Well make me an offer, then!!” And trust me, we were attempting to calmly communicate and negotiate, but he wasn’t having it. I wasn’t going to stick around for more verbal abuse and condescension. We left and went down the road to the Hyundai dealer. Ended up having an amazing experience there and got a Palisade, a larger car from the sister company with more bells and whistles, for LESS than their Sorento offer. Needless to say, I’ll never come back to Gateway Kia in Denville, and will never recommend that anyone else goes there either.
