Purchased a van and 24 hrs later started having problems, to the point where the van wasn't drivable at all. John refused to help at all claiming that things happen all the time to vehicles. He also stated that he had done a check of the van and nothing was wrong with it. I saved the ad that he had posted and it stated that the van was "Perfect Inside And Out." We were from another state so bringing it back to him to have it looked at wasn't an option since the van wasn't drivable and having it towed would have cost a small fortune. Needless to say, just as we thought, he straight out told us that he wasn't paying for repairs and then stopped answering our emails.

My family has bought our last 3 cars from John and all were (and are) great!! We bought a 2006 subaru outback for our daughter a 2007 honda crv for my wife and a 2007 Toyota tacoma for me. All 3 cars were very easy to get due to their easy financing process (the first car was the crv and our credit wasn't great) but John got us approved and we built our credit up so the tacoma and outback were quickly approved a year and 2 years later. John is very friendly and down to earth and made the process easy. He stands behind his cars and we've had no major problems with any of them in the 3 years we've owned them. Not sure why the other reviews weren't good

This guy is as shady as they come and masquerades in a nice-guy suit while you're in the buying process. You'll soon find out the problems with your seemingly nice car. My college-aged daughter bought a Subaru and immediately had problems putting it into gear, for which he accused us! With that as a warning sign, we took it to a reputable dealer (50 years in business!) who gave us a laundry list of what was wrong with the car, including the entire bottom being rusted out! They also told us of a leak in the brake lines, which was odd, given he signed a statement required by the State that he inspected the brakes! We gave him the list and he fixed the brakes and painted the bottom and said it was fine. We knew it wasn't, but we weren't getting any money back from this guy. He always has a song and dance as to why he's not at fault, this guy is better than Trump when it comes to diverting blame. One year and 5k poorer later, the car is dead. The engine blew, no check engine or oil light ever came on and oil changes were done consistently. I'm sure he'll say he didn't tinker with the lights, but we know, he did, and that the karma coming his way is going to be a amazing. He preys on people who are struggling to make a living without a hint remorse. John is the lowest of the low, and don't buy it when he says it's another dealership, it's Vernon Motor Cars!

I should have listened to people around town & what reviews I could find. Bought a car 1 1/2 months ago and have already put $2000 into it just to make it safe. A break line blew out on me & I almost killed my children, my girlfriend, myself & another car full of people. The broken cv joint was greased instead of being replaced. Check engine light code cleared & not fixed. As well as tpm sensor & vsc control as well. Pure xxxxxxx! Be careful, it's only a matter of time until someone gets hurt or worse due to his greedy negligence. If I could go back in time & change one thing it would be ever stepping foot at Vernon Motor Cars & dealing with John the owner @13 Windsor Ave. I am not speaking of another dealership, I'm speaking of Vernon Motor Cars on Windsor Ave Vernon,Ct 06066
