What Others Say

Avoid at all costs. They charge $1500 for a camper prep fee but don't clean it at all. I spent hours on our forst trip cleaning dust and removing stickers. When I called them out they claim it is what they charge for predelivery inspection, something they are required to do on new units before they are sold. They also charge $1200+ for destination (to their lot) fees. The finance department is pure xxxx. I came in after an almost 12 hour day at work. Tracy lied and decieved me about the coverages she was selling me. I canceled within the 30 day period but dealing woth Justin was just as bad, having been told I refuse to do business with camping world again, he still worked hard to keep the GAP insurance (more on that below). Once I read through all the legal wording, I tried canceling everything again, and it became a 3 month process of being ignored. I had to call the corporate help line, and part of that conversation Justin decided to publicize the cintents of a provate conversation that was recorded for IN HOUSE USE ONLY on an online forum bashing the company as a whole, effectively violating privacy laws in our state. Avoid buying the good sam extended service contract through them. You can get it cheaper directly through good sam, amd for a lo ger period, bit it is absolutely worthless. The GAP insurance they sell isn't really GAP, but it provides a certificate that is only valid at the location you bought from for 90 days; it doesn't actually cover the loan.

We found a serious safety hazard after we’d bought our used (1 year old) trailer. An LP tank was about to come completely apart from its support shelf attachment. We were told “no problem” when we’d asked about the tank being so wobbly, during the walk-through! Thankfully we checked more closely, and brought the trailer back in, because once that tank hit the road, there would have been an explosion. Our sales rep did basically nothing - I found the trailer we wanted on line, and asked for it to be transported to Madison - and he didn’t even give us receipts for our initial payments, nor specs on the trailer, NOTHING, until we put the request in writing. Then we were told we’d purchased it - no refunds possible - without us having seen, much less read and signed, ANY contract or papers. We asked for the title to be in both our names, signed the paperwork for this, they put it in only one name. Fortunately we caught that too, otherwise we’d have had to pay another big fee to get it re-titled properly. They pretty much got one, or more, things wrong, every step of the way. And, we’re total newbies at this, and don’t necessarily know what to look for - hopefully there won’t be anything else major needing fixing along the way, that they either missed, or knew about, but didn’t do anything about, not even to tell us. To call them incompetent is letting them off too easily.

We purchased a new 2019 Entegra Esteem July of 2019. Since that time we used it once in 2021 for a weekend. All the other years it was in their service dept for a whole summer. Do you get that, a whole summer. They said they were swamped and it takes time for the manufacture to get back about warranty approval. Bull dung. I have since concated other dealers, repair shops and they fixed promply or walked me thru trouble shooting to shorten the wait time. I will never ever buy or have service an rv from Camping world again.

Was sold a brand new 2021 M260 Mallard in July 2021 only to discover the entire underside is covered in rust. Camping World refuses to do anything as does the manufacturer. It was obviously there when we purchased it. Do not buy from them!!

I was assured the generator on my motor home worked great when I purchased it, but it’s been nothing but a problem since I bought it. First time I used it, it had problems over heating when it does work, I have to remove the cover and blow a fan on the generator when temps approach the mid 80’s. It has been in the shop for the generator 3 times and now it needs to go in again. My Motorhome experience has been nothing but a hassle because the generator has been a constant problem. Camping World is more interested in maximizing share holders profits than having quality customer service. My first mistake was trusting Calvin, my second mistake was trusting the store manager when he said they would make it right.

We had a really pleasant experience with Camping World, Madison. We were contacted about a used RV. Appointments were made and follow-thru was timely and professional. The Service Department was prompt and thorough in doing the inspection.
