I have purchased many vehicles from a variety of dealerships. The experience I had with Capital Subaru of Greenville was the easiest and least stressful I have ever encountered. I was looking to purchase a late model pre-owned Subaru but ended up with a brand new vehicle with the same options as the pre-owned vehicles I was interested with only a small amount of increase in cost. There was no haggling on price, no false promises, and every individual encountered throughout this process was phenomenal. Everyone was kind, friendly, helpful, and willing to do what it took to make this a pleasant experience. Thank you to everyone, and I absolutely love my new Subaru Crosstrek!
This place has really gone downhill in the last 10 years. The sales department has always been sleezy, but no more so than any other car dealership. When I first bought my Legacy, 13 years ago, the service department was the best I’d ever encountered. It was run by a guy named Chris and he was personal, he really understood the innerworkings of the vehicles, himself, and his technicians would actually speak to you. Recently, they’ve moved to a model where you have a “concierge”, which is basically a person in sales, who knows nothing about how cars work and who changes everything the technicians say is going on with your car, to sales-speak. You also aren’t allowed to talk to technicians anymore. Lastly, they told me that they don’t even bother with coolant problems anymore, because any coolant system problem will always destroy a Subaru engine. Subarus don’t have temperature gauges in their cars. They only have an engine temperature light that comes on only once the engine is destroyed. They won’t even bother to look into coolant system problems anymore because of this. They just have a way of using you back over to sales, when you realize that this design flaw destroys engines. This is so many levels of crazy, and it is the reason I will never own a Subaru again for the rest of my life.
I worked with this dealer over the last few days to buy a Subaru Forester and it was a great experience… Until they told us the day before we were going out of state to buy it that they had sold it a week ago. Mind you, we were told that the car was saved for us and had already secured financing. The process was almost finished only for us to be called 20 minutes before they closed the day before we were supposed to leave. They acted as though they were doing us a FAVOR by telling us they had sold the car a week ago? And hadn’t updated their stock? Right. Okay. In the meantime, we saw the price go up this morning on a listing they sent us and we were wondering why. It really seems as though they sold it out from under us at a higher price. Be mindful of the shady tactics this dealership may use to sell you a car.
knowledgeable and friendly staff. Courteous and very willing to assist. The service department is outstanding.
Service our Forester here since purchase in 2018. Mr. Daniel Barbee is always courteous and reasonable. Waiting area has comfy chairs and generous amenities. Car is usually ready before estimated time, level of mechanical service is top-notch (as one would expect from the good AD). Looking ahead for that incoming Hybrid Forester model sometime in 2025, and provided we are still here, there is no question from whom we will be buying it.
Great knowlege about vehicles. Very professional and courteous. Smooth process for paperwork. Good communication and ease of appointment.
