I flew to Chicago to purchase a specific Telluride and got to the dealership, sales guy was nice, did paperwork and went outside to drive the vehicle home and found a scratch to the bare metal, showed the salesman before I took the car and his response was when I get home go to my Kia dealership and get some touch up paint and we don't have any here. I paid outright for the car and they won't do anything about it. I am not an autobody person, so I'm assuming it will rust. I responded to the managers and not one response from them or the salesman. They sold the car and won't do anything about it. What kind of salesman would say to a customer on a 52k car that is brand new to go buy some touch paint!! They won't respond to Kia Corporate about it either!! I should have read these reviews before I went to Gerald Kia in Naperville, IL!!! Read the reviews before you buy there!!

On November 13, 2024, my family and I went to Gerald Kia of Naperville excited to see some amazing vehicles (2025 K5 LXS and K5 GT-Line). We met with Ky and he was amazing and knowledgeable. As time went on and we were negotiating a deal, that is when the disappointment and embarrassment for this dealership occurred. The sales manager CARLOS (unprofessionally dressed and wearing a baseball cap) came over to Ky’s desk and berated and yelled at me for the price and terms I was asking. It was unprofessional and very verbally aggressive, yelling at me, pretending he “didn’t understand “ the price and terms my family was asking for. First of all, how is yelling and insulting a father of 2 in front of his wife and kids going to foster a deal? Secondly, how can a person in a sales manger position, having conducted hundreds of deals, pretend to “not understand “ or be confused on what sort of deal and terms is needed for myself and my family. I could have paid cash for the deal then and there, but was so put off we left. The finance manager did a great job trying to save the deal, but in what world is it ok to yell at a potential customer in front of their family. Please do not do business here until CARLOS is replaced or coached on basic proper customer communication.

The air conditioning on our recently purchased 2023 Niro went out; although it took several weeks for the issue to be located and the parts ordered (which added some time to the process) the service dept communicated throughout the process, provided a HEV loaner, and ultimately worked with Kia on the fix and related warranty coverage. Thanks to Chris and the team for resolving this.

RUN FROM GERALD KIA OF NAPERVILLE as fast as you can!! Said my new Telluride had a trailer hitch. I told the salesman.my first requirement for a new car was a trailer hitch. Salesman assured me the box in cargo area was a hitch, just needed to be installed. Salesman said the manager would take care of it. He tried, alright. They tried to rip me off by charging $1999.00 for the hitch that was suppose to be on the car. I agreed to pay 1/3 of the cost of the hitch so we could all go home. The box contained roof rails, not a hitch. Fast forward 3 months later and still no hitch. Back ordered. None in the entire US. Told me I would have to wait like everyone else. I have made 3 payments on this car. I am paying monthly for a hitch that is NOT installed on my car. Managers are typical used car salesmen. Rude, condescending and will tell you anything to sell you their car. I reminded them I will fill out the survey. I mysteriously never received one. Chucks. I am a pro-active, educated, senior citizen who has been taken advantage of. Not being able to tow my merchandise trailer has been paralyzing to my business of 25 years. I have lost thousands in revenue during my busy season and has profoundly affected my income. Not to mention the unhappy customers by me not being at these events to sell dated, event apparel. I am unable to sell anything if I can't transport my equipment and merchandise in my cargo trailer that requires the infamous hitch.. GERALD KIA of NAPERVILLE IS THE USUAL, SHADY, BAIT AND SWITCH CAR DEALER. If they would have been honest about no trailer hitches, I would have walked out and they know it. Tried to get them to take it back. No, Not interested in an aftermarket hitch. I paid for factory OEM and want no issues when I turn this car in. Buy back this car so I can move on and try to run my business. Look at all of their horrible reviews. Go else where and save yourself the aggravation. Filed with BBB and Next up... Deceptive website, false advertising, broken promises. Before making the 6 hour round trip and before arranging financing, I questioned the unlimited warranty that was posted for the vehicle on their website. I even received warranty details. I arrived and the finance paperwork was awaiting a signature, that was when I was told that the warranty expired 13 days earlier and that corporate was firm on it. I was offered a 36 month warranty at half price. The car jumped in price now by thousands with less that half the warranty. A handshake with an apology and a three hour trip back home and the website is still showing the vehicle with an unlimited warranty. Horrible and costly experience from a company that doesn’t abide by their advertisements.

Do not schedule an appointment for maintenance with Gerald Kia Naperville. They will not work on it the same day. I had a simple appointment for 8:30 a.m. to have a light bulb replaced and they wanted to keep the car overnight. They were unable to even look at my car all day. What is the purpose of the appointment? The funny thing is this is the 2nd time this happened to me at this location. Shame on me I guess.
