The waiting area has comfortable chairs and tables. Clean restroom is very nice. It also has advanced communication in terms of getting estimates and inspection results. Nonetheless I like the old system with paperwork.
Low stress experience overall. Everyone was very pleasant to work with and they got me a great deal!
I like to think of automobile dealerships as bookends. The left side being the sales process, the right is service. McGovern Honda can very easily hold it’s own against European premium badges. I’m coming from the Audi environment, where the customer is king. My experience with the service department, both intake and discharge has been exemplary.
Bobby Gazza at McGovern Honda has been excellent to work with. He’s extremely attentive to detail, supportive, and most importantly genuinely helpful without ever applying pressure. He takes the time to explain what they find, what may need attention in the future, and what actually does not need to be done right away. That level of honesty and transparency is rare in many automotive service centers. For context, I stopped going to Acura of Boston after a very poor experience shortly after moving to the Boston area. I brought my vehicle in for a specific issue, spent roughly $1,700 on the recommended service, and the original problem was never resolved. The only follow-up suggestion after I said no to another job with an additional $1500 price tag, was I than point to visit sales and consider purchasing a new/used vehicle, which felt completely unacceptable given the unresolved repair and money already spent. Plus they only offered a $500 off if I purchased from there, now I avoid any owners of that dealership group. The reason I mention that is because experiences with people like Bobby at McGovern Honda highlight the difference honesty and integrity make. If someone like Bobby had been my service advisor there, I likely would have returned because I would have felt there was genuine effort and transparency, and I truly believe he would not have done that. Instead, I experienced the opposite. I’m sure there are other good service advisors at McGovern Honda as well, but Bobby stands out as efficient, trustworthy, and simply a quality person to deal with. Experiences like this are a major reason I’m leaning toward Honda instead of Acura for my next vehicle, and McGovern Honda is the dealership I plan to purchase from. They are clearly a trustful group, more so with Bobby on the team!!!
