Five Star Ford responded

When you arrived after dark on December 2nd, Mr. White did walk around your vehicle looking for any major damages that would need body shop repairs. He did not do a complete inspection because that is not the dealer’s responsibility. Ford Motor Company uses a third-party lease inspection service that completes all lease inspections and then contacts the customer with their findings. When Mr. White tried to complete your lease termination you did not agree with the mileage charges that were being calculated by Ford’s system. We then suggested that you may want to take the vehicle back to the dealership you leased it from and discuss your mileage limits and those charges. You agreed and left with your vehicle. You then came back shortly after that and completed the termination paperwork for your lease, again without any additional inspections. Your vehicle was parked the night of December 2nd after completing your termination paperwork and the very next day, December 3rd, a third-party service came out and inspected your vehicle and notated the two four-inch cracks in your windshield. You are correct that we communicated to Ford Motor Company that we were not taking responsibility for any damages found on your vehicle because we simply processed your lease termination paperwork. Any charges are between you and Ford Motor Company.
