I live in Denville and drive past Auto Spot of Mountain Lakes almost every day, so I finally decided to stop in and check it out. I ended up leaving with a car the same day lol The process was easy and smooth, and Rigo my guy was super helpful the whole time, Really good experience overall
Just bought a 2018 Nissan Rogue from Auto Spot of Mountain Lakes and had a great experience. The whole process was smooth and everyone there was friendly. Rigo was easy to work with and made sure everything was clear from start to finish. I never felt pressured and he made the whole thing simple. Definitely happy with my purchase and would recommend asking for Rigo if you stop by.
Everything you read is 100% truthful and the photos and videos will show proof of everything.
I do not recommend anyone to buy a vehicle from Auto Spot Mountain Lakes without a mechanic. I was so happy that i was able to purchase a vehicle for my 41st birthday on 1/10/26 and it turned out to be a complete disaster. For starters when i called to inquire about the vehicle which is the same vehicle that i have now which was listed for $6497 and i told the sales person that i only have $7000 tax’s included and that im coming from NYC! He said don’t worry about it and come so i said ok im on my way! He says call me when you are 10mins out so i did and when I arrived there in the worst weather pouring rain and snow flurries and dark the vehicle was already outside running. So as im looking at the vehicle before the test drive I observed 2 dents on the passenger side of the vehicle, all 4 of the brake calipers looked rusted, and the rear view mirror was missing. So then we continue with the test drive with salesmen Jay Algarin despite the weather the roads were smooth so my only concern was the lil noise when i break so he said he will talk to the manager. So we arrived back and as that was going on i was getting my insurance for the car and started the policy cause he tells me it’s gonna be fine! But just for them to come up with a $9,000 price tag so me and the manager were going back and forth and i told him all the details about the vehicle he tells me that the breaks and calipers will stop its just break dust. So as I was getting ready to leave because I see we couldn’t agree on the price salesman Jay comes back outside to stop the car that I came in and told me the best that they can do is 7500 to give them the 7000 now and owe them 500 when the title comes back so as me putting everything into thought as I just had a child and was out on paternity leave and I needed a vehicle to get back-and-forth to work as my return date was January 29, 2026 and had to transport myself from New York or New Jersey to Staten Island. I agreed. So i signed the paperwork and was given my copies i realized that it wasn’t any warranty and sold as is. So I go in more details with the sales manager and he tells me that it’s because i paid the $7500 and if i paid the $9000 it would cover warranty. But everything is good with the vehicle and when you come back to pick up your title, we don’t usually give warranties after but we can talk about it when you come back i got you. So being that the salesman and the sales manager was nice I feel comfortable because the other manager was very obnoxious.. So fast forward about two weeks after this I tried to use the windshield fluid and realized no fluid is coming out so I figured that it didn’t have no fluid. I goes to buy the fluid from AutoZone just to lift the hood and see that it’s fluid inside so that’s when I realize something is not working with that. So I go to my mechanic and ask him can he find out what’s wrong with this vehicle? He put it on the lift and tells me that I need front struts and back shocks ASAP and the motor is bad for the washer fluid Then on January 25, my horn stopped working. when I got fed up and called the dealership on January 28th at 10:45AM and Jay Algarin answered which I told him what’s going on, and he transferred me to the manager, which so happened to be the same obnoxious Manager I’m telling him exactly whats going on and that if he can wave tha $500 balance cause I’m gonna have to put a lot of money into the vehicle. And he is tells me no and that he didn’t make any money off the car there’s nothing he can do i accepted the car as is. We are going back and forth again then i ask him about my title he’s gonna tell me it’s been ready since the Jan. 14th and that they called me and tried to leave a message but my voicemail isn’t active. I tell him that i didn’t get a call and why didn’t you call back? He tells me that it’s not his job to keep calling! That’s when i lost it
Talk about getting screwed...did I ever. So the price for the 2017 v6 mustang was $13,500 after dealer fees and registration fees it came out to over $17,000. I also bought an extended warranty that is not worth a penny ,yet he talked me into it for an additional $2,600. After a week the check engine light came on ,it was misfire on cylinder 1 and 5 and also steering wheel sensor position was off and I also noticed my gas mileage was crap. I would drive 9 miles but it would say I drove 30. I called Albdu but he told me it's a man made vehicle,of course the check engine light is going to go on . The car is now sitting at the mechanic ,I need new spark plugs, manifold gasket sealer ,new fuel injectors, new coils and they still can't figure out why it's still running rich. It's been at the mechanic for over a week and they will not use the warranty because it's a pain to deal with them. All out of pocket ,I'm going broke over here.
This is a learning experience for me . I should have done my research before making this purchase. I'm sure I will end up spending thousands of dollars on repairs . Ultimately it's up to the consumer to trust a dealer , I decided to make the purchase without looking at reviews and it cost me . Please do your research before making a car purchase ,its the difference between a good deal and a bad one
Beware this dealership! The on line listed price is not the price they want you to pay. They have a dealer prep fee in my case of 2,000.00. I complained and they dropped it to 1,700.00. Be aware that they only charge for the NJ fee for the Temp ID. You have to go yourself to DMV for Title and plates and pay for it additionally. I think it's about $450. Other dealerships do this for you and just have you return to the dealership to pickup. They try to fool you with a lower price but this service is not done. Make sure you spend $220 and get a Pre Purchase Inspection. PPI. Do not trust these people!
STAY AWAY!!! I purchased a car for $12,000 for my 17-year-old son. Within 3 months, it was determined that the car was burning oil - badly - and we needed to replace the engine. The Warranty Company that Auto Spot uses only authorized repairs - which did not fix the problem. We still had to replace the engine at nearly $5,000. A couple of months later, the transmission had to be replaced. Another $1800.00. The infotainment center froze up and the screen stopped working. And the HVAC lines clogged and the car started collecting water on the floor. It has been nothing but a money pit and nightmare and the dealership doesn't return calls, is dismissive on the phone and ignored my complaints to the BBB. STAY AWAY!!!!!
