Ever wanted to experience a police interrogation without committing a crime? Head to the Dixon Ford VW dealership, owned by Schreiber Automotive, and ask for “Irate Nate.” We drove over an hour to check out a truck that smelled like it had been chain-smoked by a Marlboro Man ghost and hadn’t seen soap since the Obama administration — even though they knew we were coming. Then came Nate. Oh, Nate. The man, the myth, the mood swing. He slammed a number on the desk like he was solving a hostage negotiation, drew a dramatic line under it like we were on “Shark Tank,” and then tossed us a pen like it was a live grenade. Bold strategy, Cotton. If this works on people, I have questions. To be fair, the sales manager was actually decent and tried to clean up the mess (not the truck, just the vibe), but the damage was done. Pro tip: If you visit this dealership, either bring your own air freshener and sense of humor — or just kindly request not to be waterboarded by Nate’s “negotiation tactics.” And if you end up signing something under duress, blink twice for help. We came for a truck. We left with a story.
The absolute worst. Salesman lied about there being 2 keys. Came time to pickup car and only 1 key. Wanted $380 for second. Wouldn't even split the cost. Then we realized after the sale that they had swapped out the nice wheels and continental tires with rusting wheel and Walmart tires. And the icing on the cake! Now, 3 months later, our tradein, which they said they auctioned, ends up stripped and abandoned in a city 50 miles away who says we now owe them $580 in impound fees. Contacting a lawyer. These guys make other dealerships look like Mother Theresa. Truly a bunch of criminals. PLEASE, don't risk getting screwed like we did. Go literally anywhere else. You've been warned.
I completely disagree with all the keyboard Karen's on here. I had a fantastic experience with Dixon Ford/VW. I will definitely be back!
Terrible dealership, bought truck with low miles 2021 and with in 3 days had 4 check engine light codes, I called them and they would do nothing for me. They sell junk cars, they do no inspect or fix anything! I should have listened to reviews!
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY from this dealership no matter what. They are thieving lying crooks last month we bought a car the day after buying the car we noticed issues with the torque converter, tried to take it to dixon ford to see what they were going to do considering by Illinois law there is a 15 day power train warranty and they by law we’re liable for the repair of the vehicle. They refused to take my car in and or look at it I went to multiple mechanics on my own all of which confirmed that it was a torque converter issue and it is a known issue with this make and model of car. I went back again and asked them whether or not they would fix the car or even look at it they again refused stating “we lost our xxx on your trade in and will not be looking at your car or fixing it you should just take this as a win, you guys won” what we won was an up to 10k dollar repair for which they are liable to repair and refuse they also refused to take their piece of crap back and give us our original trade in back they then told us we were not welcome at the dealership and not to call them anymore because they will not be fixing the car they sold us. Every person in that place from the top down is corrupt they are no better than common thieves swindling people so they can push unsafe cars out onto the road and make as much money possible. There is a reason they have a D- on BBB they are criminals from the owner to the sales associates they should not have a license to sell vehicles and hopefully once all is said and done they will lose their license to sell vehicles. They sold a family of 3 a vehicle that is unsafe to be operated knowing that we had a 1 year old and another on the way they put the lives of 3 people and an unborn child at risk to raise their bottom dollar. They are monsters and absolutely abhorrent people and overall as a business. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE RUN AWAY DONT WALK any positive comments or reviews of this place are only their because they basically beg you to leave them a good review after they get done screwing you over. They’re the worst kind of people and don’t deserve your business or anyone’s business please save yourself and stay away from this despicable disgusting excuse of a business. You’d be better off slamming your head in the refrigerator door you’ll have a better experience with that.
Me and my Husband purchased a car from them back in September. The sales professional was very courteous and friendly. The sales manager Zach advised us that they don’t sell junk cars. We had the car, made one payment and had electrical issues that were going to cost close to $1000 to repair. When I originally took the car to get checked out after I noticed the power steering going on and it gf the sales rep advised me they would take care of us and we scheduled an appointment. Much to my frustration they told us we had to pay for the inspection. I called Sterling Chevy and they got me in quickly and saved me over $100. After I found out I was having problems with the car that only continued to get worse (steering wheel was shaking pretty bad) so called the manager Zach and Drillon for 3 days. They refused to return my calls. So I left a google review. Finally by Friday I was tired of waiting for a call back from the manager so I called Sterling Chevy and left a message with the owner. Not too much after Zach calls me back being highly aggressive. Says we are no longer welcome to set a foot at dfvw and he would call sterling Chevy to have them take over the car problem. Well Zach never did. Sterling Chevy ended up helping us tremendously. I will say never buy a car from Dixon Ford Volkswagen. The sales managers are extremely unprofessional and refuse to help you if they sell you a garbage car. They sold my parents a garbage car as well. The van they bought from them was completely rusted out where the engine is housed. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
