I recently had the unhappy occasion to total my 2004 Yukon when the brake lines failed. While the insurance company was addressing the damage, I was given a rental car which was our only means of travel. Before the rental ran out, we noticed a GMC on the Per4Mance Auto lot on our trip home from Ft. Meade. This is the same dealer that was in business when I was assigned there. I returned the next morning to check on it and was told by Terry Lancaster that it was sold but he invited me to see the rest of the stock on their lot. There were several similar vehicles there, but none suitable for our needs and price range. As we discussed my needs and type of vehicle I wanted, we got to know each other very well. Over the next two weeks, he sent Darryl Price to pick us up to see the cars presented, saw to it we had accommodation during the extensive negotiations, and bring us home. Each one fitted our model request, but could not be financed or required too many expensive repairs. Once their in-house stock was exhausted, Terry, who knew by now what we wanted, attended all the auctions looking for the right car. He found it! It is a black, top of the line, 120K Chevrolet Tahoe. We agreed!!! Then the fun began. Mike Johnson began looking for the best loan available. In that our credit score was in the trash there were no commercial takers. Per4mance auto guaranteed a car loan and were true to their word. They took the loan with some money we had for the purpose. They and included a 100,000 mile warranty on the car, inspection, taxes, and title. In addition, they gave me a certificate for repairs within 30 days and a six months guarantee on the tires at no cost. The staff was very knowledgeable about the cars, professional, friendly, and made us feel like family. If you have purchased a car from a dealer recently, during the negotiation phase how many times did the salesman go to the manager to get clearance? How much were you involved in the sales agreement other than sign here? What else did they give you to include all the taxes, fees, inspection and title in the sale? What additional maintenance and tire guarantees did they furnish at no cost? If this sounds too familiar, you will do yourself a favor by dealing with Per4mance Auto first. Unfortunately, the ratings stop at five stars, but they deserve more than that.
