By far the absolute worst car buying experience in my life and I'm 50. On Friday, August 25, 2022, I purchased a 2023 Cadillac XT6 from Carla with Gerry Lane Cadillac. Allow me to preface this review by saying Carla is an absolute doll. I would highly recommend her but not the dealership she represents. I was tired after a full day of test driving other SUVs and had a splitting headache. I regret not doing more research prior to finalizing the deal. The following morning, I went to their website and realized the exact vehicle I'd purchased was advertised for approximately $2500.00 less from what I was charged. The vehicle had been advertised by VIN. It wasn't a similar vehicle. It was THE vehicle I'd been sold. I immediately brought this to Carla's attention and said I trusted they would do the right thing. I did not ask to renegotiate the deal nor rescind the purchase. I asked if they could throw in upgraded floor mats, a few oil changes or possibly some Cadillac merchandise. I did not believe my request was unreasonable however Marsha Williams, their finance "manager" refused. She said they are not responsible for the pricing listed on their website and that the site is maintained by a third party. She further advised they'd fired a prior website management company for making typos. (All the more reason it seems they'd proof read things prior to going "live" in a digital format.) I worked for a major insurance carrier as a fraud investigator for many years -- The carrier who insures Gerry Lane's multiple dealerships across the Baton Rouge area. I had the ocassion to meet Mr. Lane several times and he was a class act. He would be rolling over in his grave right now if he knew of Marsha William's handling of this situation. She, GM C.J. Patton and Eric Lane have masterfully scarred the dealership's reputation and the legacy he worked very hard to build. My next step is filing a complaint with the Louisiana Attorney General's office of Consumer Protection. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they are deposed. At one point while in Marsha's office, I asked to use the ladies room. She showed me to the back and I apologized for walking so slowly. I explained that I'd fallen last year and suffered a spiral fracture to my ankle and a major back injury. I mentioned I'd had 7 surgeries in the last year and Marsha LAUGHED. I think I'll include the U.S. Department of Justice's Disability Rights department. They too would love an explanation from Marsha Williams. Marsha volunteered she had two grown sons and three grandchildren who lived in Alaska. I thought, "What 60 year old lady choses to live so far away from her grandchildren." I've since learned, A MONSTER! When this is all said and done, Marsha will be begging to hand deliver upgraded floor mats to me. The answer will be, "NO." Others have speculated the dealership is racist. I'm a plain old white lady with a checkbook. A very big checkbook. I know die hard Cadillac drivers and infact, was referred to Carla my by best friend whose purchased several Cadillacs from Carla. That won't be happening again. This was my first Cadillac experience and will definitely be my last. I will not stop until their poor business practice costs them millions. Then they won't be able to afford their third party website management company. Mark my word. I have nothing to lose. Gerry Lane has A LOT. I should also add, they royally screwed me on my trade-in too. I simply asked them to return it. They've got their Cadillac back but will not give me my Infiniti QX80 back. I'd only traded the vehicle because it was difficult for me to get in and out of due to my two recent back surgeries. They said nope! It's theirs now. I contacted my lienholder and they advised they had not even received a call to inquire the pay off amount!!! Since they low balled me by about $10k, they won't get the title until I pay off the balance. I will be taking my sweet time!!! Soooo.... My Infiniti is absolutely useless to them! And will be for a very long time! I've officially purchased 4 new cars in the last 10 days. Not many consumers would have that ability. Buyers beware!!! These people are crooks, liars and thieves!! And after a recent text I received from their sister Chevrolet dealership, I add STALKERS to the list. Funny how they've issued rebuttals to most of their poor reviews. They keep removing mine! That means they hold significant merit. There's simply nothing for them to rebutt. Oh... And to and injury to insult... They've threatened to contact my husband's job and have him terminated!!! LOLOLOL... Stupid move on their part!! He's busting his behind to pay off the Infiniti QX80 THEY STOLE!!!
I purchased a preowned certified Cadillac SRX with low mileage. The sales team and finance options allowed us to purchase the vehicle of choice at a price we could afford. The General Manager made us feel like Family from the time that we entered the dealership. I would recommend them to anyone.
This is my second purchase from Gerry Lane. My salesman was Mr. Grady Lewis, he did an amazing job finding my first vehicle but an even greater job with finding my second which was a black on black Dodge Challenger. I was able to finish my whole transaction smoothly with help from Mrs. Marsha who again showed excellent customer service and making sure I knew everything I was signing for. Both employees have awesome service and I love telling even my customers from enterprise to visit the dynamic duo.
Everyone was so helpful and friendly! They were wiling to work with me and make sure I was happy with everything. The entire process was great!
Very friendly and knowledgeable Jerry Lane personnel made for an enjoyable buying experience. Highly recommended. Very informative test drive and chat with the general manager. I think was the best car buying experience I've ever had!
