I decided to trade my RV and Mr. Kitchen was absolutely amazing. He made sure everything on our checklist was met and treated us very well. My wife and I were very pleased with our visit to Camping World. I would recommend Camping World and Mr. Kitchen to anyone that is looking for an RV.
Probably the worst experience I've had in 40 years of buying vehicles. Don't ever go there and I mean ever. Travel trailer we bought was missing equipment. They told us they would provide it. They didn't. They tried to upsell us on everything. Was told we would get information on all the additional perks and benefits of purchasing our camper through Camping World. Never happened. Once our check cleared it's like they forgot about us. The salesman we worked with was actually kind, knowledgeable and was trying to get us the best camper. The finance guy and the manager were nothing but a disaster. The person who walked us through the travel trailer knew a lot less about it than we did. I think the salesman quit the next day. Even he couldn't take it anymore. I gave it one star because they do have a really nice American flag flying.
This was by far the worst experience in making a major purchase I've ever had (and I'm 76!). We had to sit through 3 sessions of paper signing over 2 days because of mistakes - at least 30 pages each time. The errors included an excessively high interest rate on the bank loan, an incorrect phone number that we were assured "didn't matter", and the model year of our trade-in being listed incorrectly. Then, several days later they called to inform us that they had missed three pages and were going to send these to us overnight express for signatures. The papers didn't arrive. Eventually they called back to say "they weren't important and weren't needed after all"! The walk through before delivery was superficial - it was clear the young lady really hadn't taken the time to familiarize herself with the RV's features or controls. When the trailer was delivered they had neglected to send the keys. We're still waiting (although they did send us to another dealer for a duplicate door key at least). The wire cover over the hot water vent was taped on with duct tape - new tape so it was clearly put on in the service area before delivery! The spare tire had a blown cord so could never be used if needed, but they sent the trailer out anyway with a promise to replace it. Still no replacement almost 2 weeks later and I'm not holding my breath... The microwave turntable plate was missing, but we got a call yesterday that it was "on the way" (I've already replaced it through Amazon as they could have done on day 1). Finally, the TV controller was missing. The only bright spots in the whole experience were the Finance Manager MacKenzie who caught the interest rate error and the service manager Nick who has tried to iron out some of the deficiencies above (with limited success to date). Overall, Camping World of Jacksonville is definitely a No-Go in our opinion..
My experience with the salesman, Carlos Marrero, was top notch. He knew the product and was able to guide me in the right direction when selecting my camper. I recommend this store and mostly Carlos Marrero my salesman.
Jacksonville Camping World….We purchased an RV from Camping World and we were having issues so went to the Jacksonville location for assistance ordered a part it was the wrong part with no follow up from the parts department. Two weeks for this part and it was the wrong part, we were told they could get the correct part. Spoke to John and he said that is what they sent ours was discontinued, well i]a phone call explaining would have been nice as that is customer service. Tried to speak to the manager and while leaving a message was disconnected as he refused to pick up the phone. Unfortunately this Jacksonville Camping World was disappointing as the staff was rude when we tried to make a service appointment. I would suggest avoiding this Cmping World location.
Dishonest people. They tried to make me pay $23,000 for a camper that was advertised at $11,997–after I spoke with them about this and re-negotiated the deal, they then submitted the wrong loan paperwork to the lender. They also owe me a refund check that they told me over 3 weeks ago was going to be “mailed tomorrow/sitting on the printer/in the back office” or whatever other excuse they could make. I need to start writing down the “excuse of the day…” as it’s almost comical. Today, me: “I was told on Friday by Joe Dolgach, the manager, that the check would be in the back office on Monday.” Salesperson: “We don’t have a back office.” 😂😳 The manger will not call me back, corporate HQ will not call me back. The salesman and the finance guy are fine and a pleasure to work with, but otherwise this has been the most unpleasant consumer experience of my life.
