My Review of LowBook Sales:
I signed all the documents to purchase a 2004 Honda Odyssey and they told me that bye the time my husband came in that evening that they would have a final approval for the loan with an intrest rate at 10.99%. When my husband came in to sign the paperwork, they did not have a final approval. A week passed and I had not heard anything from the dealer to tell me who the loan was being processed through, what my final interest rate would be and when my first payment was due. I spoke to the finance manager and he said he would "get right on it" and would call me back that evening. I did not hear anything from him that night, the next day I called and he indicated that he was able to get the car financed, but the interest rate would be 17.99 to finance the whole thing, or 14.99 with a $1000 down payment. I indicated to them that the person I signed paperwork with had said that the interest rate would not be any higher that 10.99 and that they had an initial approval at that rate, so he would get me that interest rate or we would bring the car back and take our trade back. The finance manager said that he would continue to work on it, and that I could call first thing in the morning that he would be there at 8 am. Called the next day and he was not in and I was told that he never came in before 12noon. I indicated that I wanted to talk to the gentleman that we had signed paperwork with, and they put me on hold. The salesperson came on the line and told me that the finance person said to tell me that the deal was out to a couple of banks, and they were going to get me 10.99 or we could bring the vehicle back. Another sales person called me a few minutes later and indicated that they had an approval for 9.75, but it would require a down payment of $1000. I told him that they had not been up front with us from the beginning and that we were going to bring the vehicle back and get our trade back because we didnt want to work with them anymore. He then told me that I would have to pay a dealer restock fee and mileage. He also told me that he knew this was not my fault, but they had been through 2 finance managers and a General Manager in the week since I puchase my vehicle. My husband and I went in and the finance manager spoke with us about the financing. He indicated that he had found a lender who was willing to do the loan at 9.75, but they could not accept the trade. We indicated that there was no way we could come up with $1000 down, and we could not make 2 car payments. We took our trade back, and went to another dealer who was able to get us a similar vehicle for $2000 less and get us financed a 7.49%. Thank goodness we got out of that deal with low book. They are crooks and will take you for whatever they think that they can.
