What Others Say

The purpose of this review is to warn potential Subaru owners of a hidden issue that may occur with your future Subaru. I actually really like all the people who I have met at Hansel Subaru, both in the sales and service side, but I still need to issue this warning as a one star review. I bought a Subaru forester premium from Hansel Subaru in October 2023. It was equipped with Bridgestone ecopia tires. In May of 2025, I brought the car in for service and was told that I needed new tires at only 17k miles due to uneven wear. Hansel Subaru drew up a $1,300 quote for new tires and an alignment. Being very shocked by this development and not thinking it was normal to have tires degrade so rapidly, I asked if this could be handled under warranty. It was a hard no from the dealership. I also filed a claim with Subaru of America, which was just recently denied as well. If you do online research on Subaru foresters and tire wear, you'll see that foresters equipped with these Bridgestone ecopia tires can often experience premature tire wear. You'll find examples online of forester owners having to replace tires as early as 12k miles. It has to do with the ecopias being a smooth running tire with softer rubber. The tire is not suited to the heavy and torquey forester. Also, there was some information out there about the foresters being improperly aligned at the factory. That being said, if you're in the market for a new forester, and you see the Bridgestone ecopias on your future vehicle, be warned that there is a high likelihood of premature tire wear. Subaru is doing a disservice to their customers by putting such crappy tires on a $35k to $40k vehicle. Also, these tires were really bad in light snow conditions during a Tahoe trip. We were all over the road - super dangerous. If I were buying a new forester today, I would ask if the dealership is willing to swap out the Bridgestone ecopia tires and I would ask for a pre-sale alignment to be done. If they won't do that, then maybe an additional concession on the sale price is in order. I'm about to spend $1k on tires and an alignment on a car that is less than 2 years old!! I am extremely unhappy. Hope this review can be helpful to future Subaru forester owners. Let my experience be a warning to you. Best of luck!!

Hansel Subaru matched the sense of urgency required to earn are trust, thus earning our business. From the sales process through financing and agreeing to terms, The Hansel Team was as transparent and receptive as a new to Subaru, customer, deserves to be treated. Ask for Tim, my man went above and beyond.

My 2019 Crosstrek was leaking oil from one of the cam follower seals and had an issue with the driver's side window control. I was told by an independent repair shop that the cost to fix the leak would be around $5000 as the engine would need to be removed and replaced. Coincidentaly, I was contacted by Hansel about buying a new Crosstrek. I said I would not be interested as my Crosstrek was showing major issues at 75,000 miles. After checking my warranty information, I was told that my repair was covered under the 'gold warranty' I purchased at the time of sale. I was told that the repair would be done free of charge along with the window control and some front bushings that needed to be replaced. I also had the front brakes replaced as they were due. All in all I had a very positive experience dealing with the service department at Hansel Subaru. I would encourage any prospective new car buyers to go for the gold warranty coverage as it saved me from having to pay $5000+ out of pocket.

Super helpful, good vibes in each department & dog friendly!! Couldn’t ask for more! Additionally the mechanics are Obviously well trained and never miss a beat!!
