The clean good looks of Harley Earls new design struck a chord with the American public, and it quickly outsold the older style by a margin of three to one. In addition, Zora Arkus-Duntov and Chevrolet Engineering had dramatically altered the personality of Chevrolets sports car with a renewed focus on performance, a growing range of powerful small-block V8s, and improved handling. For 1958, the Corvette also added greater comfort, and its appearance was slightly revised by Harley Earl with 1958-only touches, including a louvered washboard hood treatment and twin chrome deck lid strips, which were consistent with the styling trends of the era. Performance continued to be emphasized, with a high-revving 283-cubic inch V8 ensuring the Corvette was highly competitive on both the street and the race track. Not surprisingly, Corvettes from this year are among the most collectible models of the first generation Corvettes to this day. The magnificent 1958 Chevrolet Corvette 283/250hp 'Fuel-Injected' Roadster featured here is finished in gorgeous Signet Red with Snowcrest White coves over a Red interior and a White folding convertible top. This investment-grade Corvette is a recipient of a Bloomington Gold Certification and has recently been reinspected by a longtime Corvette Judge who noted a complete, 100% no-hit body - a rarity on a 67-year-old vehicle. He further commented that this is one of the finest examples he has seen in many years. We are proud to offer this incredible example of one of America's most iconic Corvette models to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast seeking one of the very finest examples of this legendary automobile at an investment price!
