Built for only two years with a limited production of just 3500 units make these quite rare and to find one in this type of unmolested condition makes it all the better. John Delorean had his sights set on making the sub compact more sporty and beginning all the way back in 1970 and took several years to get approval. It also took an all aluminum block with engineering from across the pond to get this little sports car off the ground as it needed an intake with fuel injection which the Europeans were ahead ofthe Americans in this field. It would come in at nearly twice the price of the standard Vega and only $900 cheaper than the Corvette that year. This particular very nicely kept Cosworth Vega is in excellent shape both cosmetically and mechanically. It starts right up, idles nicely and goes down the road with ease.
