1987 Porsche 944 Turbo Strosek & Gemballa Coachwork - Lindsey Racing / A&C Underground Built Engine - 1,400 Miles Since Body-Off Restoration Celebrity Cars is proud to present this one-of-a-kind 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, acquired from a regular customer of ours who has owned it since new. In the 1980s, a small circle of German tuners - Strosek, Gemballa, and a handful of others - were reimagining what a Porsche could look like, and their work has become as collectible today as the cars underneath it. This 951 is that era brought back to life and executed to a standard the period cars never saw: a complete nut-and-bolt, body-off restoration with a documented investment north of $70,000 over and above the vehicle purchase, and just over 1,400 miles driven since. The bodywork pairs a Strosek nose with Gemballa rear treatment, finished in its original and genuinely rare Nautic Blue Metallic ( its original color from the factory) - one of the most limited colors offered on the 1987 944 Turbo, and a shade that looks entirely different in sun than it does under lights. Details continue throughout: a custom rear window, 968-style door handles, oversized rotors with custom calipers behind the wheels, and a factory moonroof retained from new. It is the kind of car that draws a crowd at a show field and then draws a second crowd when the hood comes up. Inside, the cabin was built to be lived in rather than just photographed. The like new interior is fully Dynamatted for a quiet, refined ride, trimmed in custom Italian Alcantara, with hand-painted dashboard bezels and a bespoke dash design. A modern Alpine Bluetooth head unit handles audio without disrupting the period look. The instrument cluster was rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer and set to zero at the completion of the restoration - the roughly 1,400 miles showing reflect post-restoration use only, not the car's lifetime mileage, and all of it is documented. Mechanically, this is where the car separates itself from a cosmetic build. The original numbers-matching block was fully reworked by A&C Underground, Lindsey Racing, and Trophy Performance, and backed by the five-speed manual it delivers the kind of mid-range shove a stock 951 only hints at. The car has been kept in climate-controlled storage since the build was finished and comes with an extensive binder of detailed receipts covering the entire restoration.
