The exterior of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 was envisioned to offer a unique marriage of elegance and sportscar verve, drawing on the best Maserati design tradition. The starting point for its sleek silhouette is the distinctive front end, defined by the prominent Maserati grille with concave vertical fillets. It pays clear homage to the GranTurismo and the historic A6 GCS Berlinetta, a famous Maserati icon from the past. Flowing along the side, with the two stylish lines that converge before giving way to the sculpted forms of the rear fenders, it is easy to identify clear references to the Maserati tradition, including the three large air vents behind the front wheelswith their new, more modern lookand the iconic oval Maserati Saetta logo on the triangular C-pillar. The aggressive front headlights of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 create luminous light, thanks to the LED Daytime Running Light function. Framing the large chrome Trident logo suspended in the center of the grille, they impart an even more dynamic look to the overall design. Incorporated in the headlight units, the LED indicator lights replicate the distinctive motif of Maseratis three signature side air vents. To the rear, the tapered design of the trunk is a natural continuation of the cabin, while the two LED tail lights provide continuity with the shapely rear fenders. A look suggestive of speed and aggression is underscored by the twin exhaust tailpipes and the 19-inch Poseidone Elegance wheels (standard). The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 accommodates its passengers in a luxurious, comfortable and spacious interior. Enhancing the cars elegant profile, the long wheelbase provides occupants with one of the roomiest interiors in the sports sedan category. The seats, upholstered in soft leather, have wraparound forms and impart a sporty feel while always providing supreme comfort. The center of the dashboard is dominated by the traditional Maserati clock with blue face and aluminium details and the large 8.4-inch display of the Maserati Touch Control, the access portal for the entertainment technologies and control center for most of the onboard devices. Sitting in the drivers seat of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 imparts a sense of total control. The ergonomic three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel, with controls for interacting with the main multimedia functions, frames a simple but striking instrument panel. The large speedometer and tachometer have elegant white backlighting and are separated by a 7-inch TFT display that shows the cars dynamic data. The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is powered by an efficient 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that delivers a peak of 404 HP at 5,000 rpm and is credited with a maximum torque, in Sport mode, of 406 lb-ft at just 1,750 rpm. The amazing specific torque value of 135 lb-ft per liter ensures an aggressive response that will deliver pure excitement with every movement of the right foot. A wealth of innovative solutions makes the Maserati Ghibli S Q4s V6 an extremely fuel-efficient engine. The use of two parallel-mounted, low-inertia turbines helps to prevent turbo lag, giving swifter response to every touch on the accelerator and flexibility in virtually all driving conditions. The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is equipped with an innovative on demand all-wheel drive system capable of combining maximum driving pleasure with enhanced safety on all road surfaces. In normal conditions, the rear-wheel drive system transfers the power of the V6 to the road, but if the road surface turns slippery or the wheels lose grip, the system instantaneously (in just 150 milliseconds) transfers the necessary drive force to the front wheels. In terms of handling, the adoption of front double-wishbone and rear five-arm multilink suspension combines comfort with sporty handling. The new 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is controlled by auto-adaptive software, and is able to switch from the smooth gear shifts of Auto Normal mode to the Manual Sport mode, which gives the driver full control over fastest gear changes during spirited driving.
