2021 BMW X2 M35i xDrive . Alpine White / Sakhir Orange . The BMW X2 M35i is one of those cars that makes considerably more sense once you drive it. BMW took the compact practical footprint of the X2 and essentially gave it the hot-hatch treatment: more power more aggressive suspension tuning stronger brakes an M Sport differential xDrive all-wheel drive and a cabin that feels much more special than the typical small crossover. The result is a genuinely quick enthusiast-oriented little SUV that still works perfectly as an everyday driver. . Under the hood is BMWs 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder producing 301 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque paired with an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission and BMWs full-time xDrive AWD system. BMW also equipped the M35i with an electro-mechanical M Sport limited-slip differential at the front axle specifically designed to reduce wheelspin and improve traction when accelerating hard out of corners. The chassis receives M-specific suspension tuning upgraded braking hardware front and rear anti-roll bars speed-sensitive steering and a more aggressive calibration throughout.  . And despite being a compact crossover this thing moves. Car and Driver recorded 060 mph in approximately 4.6 seconds putting it firmly into legitimate performance-car territory rather than simply being an appearance-package SUV. That combination of a short wheelbase strong low-end turbo torque and all-wheel-drive traction gives the M35i the personality of a modern European hot hatch with a little more ground clearance and practicality.  .
