Why We Acquired This Vehicle
The i7 is the first all-electric 7 Series, and it is the car that took over from the V12 at the top of BMW's range. That sequence matters. For thirty-five years the argument for a twelve-cylinder flagship was that the engine could not be felt working; the i7 settles the same argument by removing the engine altogether.
Two motors produce a combined 536 horsepower and 549 lb-ft, enough for 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, drawing on a 101.7 kWh usable battery. The result is a full-size luxury sedan that accelerates harder than most sports cars did a decade ago while making no sound at all.
