Ted Britt Ford
"Dishonest title clerk, hidden fees, over charges for waranty"
I have uploaded my sales contract which you can view. Just google the above dealer, and look for my review in the google review section. Notice the charges for title changes - less than $80! The ridiculous $799 processing fee is on there - a fee that consumer reports say NO person should ever pay, and is only charge by dishonest car dealers. Note also that the Autotrader price of the vehicle - $12,100 had been changed to $12,900. Again, I maintain that Mark Wise changed all this while he was trying to "find our best price" for the contested car warranty. They (Ted Britt) has also had google delete the photo of Ford's prices for extended car warranty. Even proof that they are as dishonest as most car dealers, probably even more so. On the phone and in e-mails they have changed their story, and tactics numerous times. On February 22, 2020 I went to Ted Britt to trade my 2016 Rav4 hybrid for a 2017 Ford C-Max Energi. The dealership offered me $17,000 for the Rav4 Hybrid and their Autotrader price was $12,100. The car was clean, and ready when I arrive. I took the car for a short test drive, where it preformed as it should. I was then taking to the billing manager, a very shady man by the name of Mark Wise. Mark proceeded to pressure me to buy the extended warranty for the vehicle, even though it still had 2 years left on the powertrain, and 5 years left on the battery. He told me that the components on this vehicle were so unreliable that it would be foolish not to buy the extended warranty. My wife suffers from severe Parkinson's disease, so I had told the dealership I needed to be in and out as quick as possible. But Mr. Wise would take 15-20 for each "quote" he would give me for the warranty. Enough already, I was tired, my wife was sick, I just wanted out of their. He finally pulled out a figure of $968 for 2 years unlimited warranty which was - direct quote here "only $30 above our cost". As you can see from the included picture, that was a lie, a very big lie. Buying online from Ford, the extended service plan for 4 years is only $648. I did not have good cell phone reception so I could not check this scammers figures. (Update - Natasha Kapoor from Ted Britt said "we do not match online prices for the Ford Warranty" What? Same company, but they can't offer the same price that Ford offers this for? Looking at the above figures, $17,000 - $12,100, should have left $4900. If you include the taxes of $502 and their $399 dealer prep rip off charge, the difference would still leave $3999. (Update - The cost of titling a vehicle in Virginia is $49. Ted Britt actually charges a whopping $799 for title registration, so you are being screw for $750!!) I was told I would receive a check for $1600 (after warranty). I'll post a picture of the final calculations. The bill was padded in numerous places. I was just too weary to fit it. The bottom line is this: NEVER go to the dealership. They are swindlers, and they prey on the elderly, especially if, like my wife, you have mobility issues. My biggest regrets was not walking out of the dealership.
