This is the second van I have purchased for my business this year and I plan on needing to purchase at least one more this year. The salesman asked that I make a deposit, so they could be assured the sale was genuine and I would not change my mind. I understand that I am an unknown to them and agreed to make a deposit. I gave the all of the information over the phone for my credit application, so this could be handled prior to me arriving to streamline things. Then I was told on Tuesday that they would not give me financing details until I arrived at the dealership. I told them that was not acceptable because I had other financing options if I did not like their terms, he said ok and he would get with his finance manager and get them to get it approved and get me the information. At around 10:00am the next morning I received a text from the salesman that he had not forgotten about me, but his new car manager was at jury duty and he would get me the information later that afternoon. At about 7:00pm I texted him and told him he I cannot believe the whole operation comes to a standstill because one person is out. Then shortly thereafter I received a call from the salesman telling me that it does come to a standstill with this person gone. But he assured me first thing the Wednesday they would get it worked out. About 3:30pm on Wednesday I received an email from the salesman with the terms followed by a phone call during which I agreed to the terms, he asked that I send proof of insurance to them, so they would have it, and I did. During this conversation I told him I would be there to pick up the van before noon on Friday and I needed t be in and out in less than an hour. I explained to him that I had a three-and-a-half-hour drive to get to the dealership and my time was important. He said he would have the van gassed up and ready to go on Thursday and when I got there on Friday I would have to spend about five minutes signing a few papers with him and the finance people could finish everything, so I could be in and out. I showed up on Friday at 11:40am and went to the receptionist and asked for him, we were told he does not come in until noon, but she would see if someone else could assist me. Another gentleman came over and said he would bring the van around, so we could get started until my salesman arrived. A few minutes later we were approached and was told the could not bring the van around because the salesman had taken the keys home with him. Finally, about 12:15 the salesman showed up he brought the van around and we did a short test drive. During the test drive I noticed the gas was almost on empty. Also, I did some research the night before and it showed and open recall on it which I felt that was the database was just not updated, he said he would have the service department check this, I also stated that he needed to pay for our lunch since we were going to be longer than expected. When we get back he takes the van to gas it up and to be detailed, things that I was told would be taken care of on Thursday. After I remind him a second time about the recall he says he will go and check on it. A short time later he comes back to me and tells me that that the recall I had mentioned had been taken care of but there was another one that had not. He said he would get the service department to take care of it while we were there. At this point we have still not signed the first piece of paperwork. We had been there about an hour and a half before we seen the first document to sign. About 1:45 I went over to a desk and expressed my dissatisfaction. Then I go back to where my wife is sitting, and the salesman gives me a gift card to pay for our lunch. I Tell my wife to let’s go to lunch as we are walking out the door they come up and tell me the finance department is ready to see me, this is close to 2:00pm. I get to the finance department and sit there probably 15 minutes for him to print out all of the paperwork. I finally finish the paperwork and we leave to go to lunch around 3:00. We are sitting in the restaurant and the salesman walks in and gives me the key to the van and says its ready. I ask him where the extra key is, and he says it only has one. Over my lifetime I have purchased ten to fifteen vehicles from dealerships and have always been given two set of keys with them. He tells me he will check on it and let me know. A few minutes later he calls me and tells me he is coming back to get the van and get me a second key made. We finish our “lunch at close to 4:00pm” and drive over to wait on the van finally about 4:30 we leave. I finally get home about 8:00pm. About 7:30pm the salesman calls me to see if we got home safely. A am so mad at this point that I yell at him and hang up. Of all of the things that occurred with this transaction that may would have been a little justifiable in my opinion was the extra key fiasco, even though this van had never been titled before for someone to lose a key. As I was sitting there in the waiting area for hours I look up and there is this big metal board titled Nissan Customer Promise. The first bullet point on it states, “We will respect your time”. I do not feel my time was respected at all. During our time there we watched customers come in be waited on purchase cars and leave. I feel because I had given a good faith deposit that they would take care of me when it was convenient for them because if I left I lost my deposit and they new I was not going to do that. I own a franchise business and the transit style vans are the preferred service vehicles for the business. Every month area franchisees meet and have discussions about our business and one of the topics every month are good resources for the things we need for our business. Had this been a good experience I would have shared this dealership with the group for a possible resource for vans, but I am very dissatisfied with the way this transaction was handled. I will look else where for future purchases and I will not share this resource with my fellow franchisees. More

Instead of taking the time to find a decent resolution to a simple solution, I was treated unsatisfactory. I will admit I was upset with the situation and corrected my choice of words when dealing with the staff. The management did nothing to find a solution to my problem. He printed out a few pages, told me to call the manufacture, gave me the wrong number to consumers affairs, played a blame game and said he was done dealing with me and to get out of his office. All I needed was a copy of warranties for my tires that I purchased there and further understanding of my coverage for tires I purchased less than 16,000 miles ago. I have tried to remain a loyal customer to Nissan of Newnan, but being yelled at by a manager who rather treat me like a five year old and dismiss me is far from the excellent customer service they were once known for. This is the same location who spent almost 8 hours negotiating a car sale for me in the past to only spend less than a reasonable time finding a solution to a issue that could have been sorted out with a little more time, effort, ethical training. Very disappointed, please commit to better shareholder satisfaction! More
