This is my 3rd or 4th car I have bought from Eric. He really knows his product and makes sure you understand the whole concept of the sale. Thrilled with my experience at Lake Chevrolet! I bought a used HHR from Gus Liechti last night and I am so pleased with the service I received there, not to mention the car. I applied for financing on their website and got a call the next day from Gus. He was courteous and no pressure! I made an appointment to come down and look at some cars, he even offered to look for other HHRs from other lots to get me exactly what I wanted. I was really nervous because it had been a very long time since I bought a car from a dealer, and quite frankly, my credit history sucks. But Gus was awesome. He made me feel right at ease instantly. He's very friendly and polite and sincere. I hate being pressured by salespeople, and I especially dislike that feeling you get when someone is just being nice to get that sale. Not true at all with Gus. I felt confident and secure and I left with the car I wanted, on great terms. He went the extra mile to make sure I was completely happy with my purchase. My wife and I came in to purchase a new SUV after speaking with Gus and Tim, both online and over phone the night before. They were very friendly and tried their best to fit our needs.This is; howeve speaking with Gus and Tim, both online and over phone the night before. After all was said and done, my family and I were getting ready to leave in our new truck when Tim approached us and "told" us he was following us to our home in order to verify our address. This was not a request. At our home, he "asked" to come inside and required multiple forms of ID and residence (which we thought we had provided at the dealership).While I was gathering this information Tim asked my wife for food, which she provided, only to have it left sitting on my living room table. I had a question as to what he needed "exactly" ; at which point I was interrupted by him answering his phone. He took the paper work I had at the time (one of which was my Electric bill to which I still have no idea what I owe) and proceeded to "sell" to the person on the phone as he left my home without so much of a "thank you" or "goodbye". My wife and I were shocked with our end experience with this salesman but were thankful all was done.....or so we thought.... Two days later we began receiving phone calls from other salesman from the dealership asking for even more information..Not only did the dealership have copies of our I.D.'s,bank statements, socials, pay check stubs, and fingerprints...They now want written verification of my SSI benefits and the prior "3" months (@$10 per statement considering I have a paperless acct) of bank statements on an official letterhead. They know I am disabled (don't drive/truck is for my wife) and am the only one able to obtain these items. All this and they STILL haven't told me who my lien holder is (the financing bank). I had to find out via running my own credit report. This dealership has called me 3-4 times per day for the last week. As I spoke to the finance company they report everything is fine........ What are these people trying to do here? Needless to say; I will be contacting a lawyer this morning. I have financed 3 cars (7 total) prior to this this one and have NEVER had or heard of issues like this before. In conclusion; DO NOT PURCHASE from this dealer, unless you enjoy semi-harassment and unprofessional salesman behavior. ****update**** I was contacted today buy a retailer by the name of "Yugster(dot)com" for solicitation purposes. When I confronted the man as to whom they received my information from he stated "Lake Chevrolet". This is a blatant violation of the sales contract. As a former business owner, all I can say is "WOW....seriously?" More
