First off, I rarely write a review. Something has to be very good or very bad to prompt me. I was looking for a reliable work truck with low miles. I found a great deal at Action Auto. John was very friendly and did not use any pressure tactics. There were a few things wrong with the truck, understandable given its age, that I did not mention. However, some services I asked for were not done. I do not know who his mechanic is, but he needs to go. I specifically asked for things to be done, but the mechanic must have taken a shortcut. Some of the work was good, but the truck should not have passed NYS inspection, period, I WAS TOLD NEW BRAKE LINES WERE INSTALLED, AFTER AN HOUR DRIVE HOME FOUND CRACKS IN ORIGINAL LINE, NOT SAFE. John did have the problem fixed, but it was a scary situation for sure. If it were not for John's friendliness I would have reported the mechanic to DMV. I sincerely hope no other vehicles get a new sticker when steering/braking parts fail the inspection. If it were possible to give 0 stars for quality of repair I would. I do not blame John directly, he went out of his way to correct the issues, was friendly and apologetic. However, the dealer is an hour drive for me and the remaining issues are just not worth my time to make 2, 2 hour round trips to have a mechanic I can't trust fix it. Bottom line, John's a great dealer and fair, but if you want any service done, factor it in to the price of the vehicle. His mechanic is untrustworthy, and for $21 get the vehicle inspected again, your safety is worth it. More
