The drive thru made it much easier for me to get my children out of the car without them running across the parking lot. I waited in the waiting area and my children stayed occupied watching tv and coloring on the chalk board. I told them I am familiar with this car and how it handles as my Fiance had one but Chris said all cars drive differently so I went for a highway test drive and I loved the car. When i went to pick up the car on Monday everything was all set Chris contacted the registry, my insurance company, they handled all details all I had to do was sign on the dotted line. I would highly recommned this dealer to anyone and when you go their ask for CHRIS HOLDER I told him what I wanted and what I wanted to pay and he get it. I felt no pressure having been ripped off by other dealers in the past I was surprised at his professionalism. More
My husband and I came to Amesbury Chevrolet to purchase a 2013 Chevy Tahoe. We also had a vehicle we were looking to trade in. We called ahead of time to speak with a manager and set up an appointment. When we arrived, Chris had the vehicle pulled up and ready for us to test drive. This was one of the best experiences we have had purchasing a vehicle. Chris was very knowledgeable on the vehicle and straight forward with us on pricing. Unlike other experiences with vehicle purchases (lengthy negotiations, hidden costs, etc.), Chris was straightforward and upfront, and was able to work with us to meet our personal budget and get us a fair trade on our vehicle. After purchasing the vehicle, Chris spent about an hour with us going over more specific features in the vehicle and setting up our preferences and on-star. Since we arrived at the dealership late on a Monday evening, they even had the vehicle washed and detailed the next day and delivered to our home. We live about 1.5 hours from the dealership. They even re-fueled the truck so it was full when we recieved it. We could not be more pleased with our experience at Amesbury Chevrolet, (Chris Holder specifically) and of course our new Tahoe! I went in on Oct 18 to check out an advertised clearence. I was brought a car to test drive which I decided to buy. I picked up the car on Friday after transfering registration from my trade-in. The car was supposed to have remote start which would not program to the clicker. They wuold fix it Monday when I had more time. On Saturday I went to put groceries in the trunk and saw it was a different model than I was told it was. Sunday in the daylight I checked the VIN thinking they had two and I came home with the wrong one. It did not match the paperwork they gave me. After calling them and a major freak-out,we decided to check it all Monday. Turns out the 2 VINs had the last 6 numbers matching. Nobody noticed the rest were different. Luckily the title was correct to the car.I took it in Monday,fixed the paperwork mix-up. But the remote still wouldnt connect. They gave me a loaner and kept at it. Tuesday Alex the service manager called to say that this car doesnt have remote start,the other model does but they felt so bad that this whole deal was so mixed-up that the salesman -Jeff- asked Alex to put in an after market one for me. I would have understood if my car didnt really have it but I am more than thrilled that they went so far above and beyond to smooth things out. Thank you Jeff and Alex. More
I bought a 2011 certified pre-owned Chevy Malibu LT a few months back and absoutely love it! I was not really in the market for a car, but when I saw this deal I had to have it. I had custom leather and heated seats put in it and they are amazing! The vehicle is just wonderful, super quiet, runs great and I'm getting around 28-30 MPG average, which with gas prices going up is just great! I worked with Dan Ditmars, he was very helpful, personable and made this a very seamless quick process. I thought buying a car would be such a headache, but it was very far from that. The people that work here are great, no pressure at all. Highly reccomend this dealership to buy a car at. More
My car purchasing experience at Amesbury Chevrolet was very positive. As soon as I entered the dealership I was promptly greeted. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about each car and answered all of my questions. I decided on a 2009 Malibu, we quickly closed the deal and within 30 min I had all of the paperwork, insurance and the keys to drive off the lot. I couldn't believe how quickly the process took. After the first day of driving I did notice an issue with the turn signal and called the salesperson. He told me to bring the car in when it was convenient for me. I pulled into the dealership the next day and again was greeted promptly and the salesperson was right there. He grabbed my keys, gave me a loaner and said the car would be fixed in the next hour and I could pick it up at my convenience. I was there at the end of the day and my car was fixed. I was impressed with the salespeople, the staff, and the facility at Amesbury Chevrolet and would encourage anyone to visit this dealership to purchase a car or get their car serviced. More
I had a good experience buying this car. We negotiated a conditional offer over the phone. Then the salesman (Dan) brought the car to my house -- which was unbelievably helpful to me. The only glitch was waiting at the dealership for the opportunity to be sold a warranty. I wouldn't have minded except I really wanted to go to the beach evening and it got too late. This is such a tiny thing, I bring it up to point out how problem-free the entire experience was. If that was the worst thing about my experience, I'd have to say it was a pretty good car buying experience. More

If I wrote this review Friday, when I first got the car, I would have given them a much better mark. I purchased a 2009 Hummer H3T from them last week to bring back and register in New York State. I made this very clear to them and provided them with all the appropriate documentation. I put down $10,500 on a $26k purchase and financed the rest at a fair rate and fair loan terms. I didn't blink an eye at the $400 documentation fee, because I was pleased that I had managed to sell my previous car for $10,500 just the previous day (They offered me $8,000 on a trade-in, which was a severe lowball offer) My salesman, Jeff, was very helpful over the phone, but provided me with misinformation regarding the warranty remaining on the vehicle. I will chalk that up as him making an honest mistake, because he based the information on CarFax, but he probably should have cross-referenced this with their own database before giving me the incorrect information. I was told that the dealership would handle all of my registration requirements, and to bring my old plates. I thought that a bit strange, since they're a Massachusetts dealership, but I assumed this wasn't the first time they had ever sold a vehicle out of state. Massachusetts has a peculiar "grace period" law, which allows you to drive for 7 days with old plates, on a new vehicle. Apparently, no one at Amesbury Chevrolet bothered to research into the fact that New York does not have the same law, so they sent me on my merry way home, in my new truck, with my old plates on it. If this wasn't bad enough, I called them the following business day to ensure that all of the supplemental registration documentation that they needed from me had been properly received via fax. They confirmed that it had, and would be sent out to the "registration service" on Monday. It took me SEVEN phone calls to finally be informed as to who this registration service was. Furthermore, I was told that they "have never used this company before" and thus could not provide me any information as to the time frame as to when I will receive my registration. Mind you, I currently have a useless vehicle in my driveway, because I have no way of registering it. On Monday morning, at 9:30 AM, I called back and asked if it was possible that all of the documents necessary to register the car be overnighted to me instead of the registration service, so that I could register the car myself. I was told that "the documents went out early this morning". In past and future correspondence, I was told that their UPS/FedEx pickup is in the afternoon/evening, therefore I was blatantly lied to. So at this point, I had gotten the runaround for 4 days, and a useless $26k vehicle for the next week and change. This whole experience has been an exercise in futility, mismanagement, lies, and embarrassing incompetence on the part of Amesbury Chevrolet. More
