Over all the sales experience was good. The issue I have is that I went there to look at a car I wanted before going to sell my car to pull the equity out and use a small portion as a cash The issue I have is that I went there to look at a car I wanted before going to sell my car to pull the equity out and use a small portion as a cash down payment. I had a cash offer from Echopark for 10k over what I owed and a pre-approval for the car I wanted. My plan was to identify the exact car I wanted, get the final approval from the bank and go and sell my car and comeback with a tenth of the equity from my car as the down payment and use the rest for a few other things I had been planning on. The sales team informed me that they could also give me the equity from my car albeit 1k less but the tax benefit was there aswell and made up the difference so I accepted because it was just easier. What they didn't tell me was that it was going to take 4-5 weeks just for them to issue the check (my bank ofcourse has their processing time to cash a check of that amount) so instead of having the cash in my account ready for me to use within a week I foolishly allowed them to mislead me and push all of my plans to the right by 4-5 weeks. If they had told me up front about the processing time I STILL WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR, I just would have sold my car to another place to get the check upfront in time for my Kids summer break vs. maybe being able to something nice for them in the small amout of time that will be left and having to pay more money because everything costs more last minute vs. paying well in advance. So now I'm out time and money because no one was up-front with the facts. It funny how after the deal is signed and there is no going back how suddenly everyone is able to fully explain the process and timeframes. Lessoned learned though. More
