This place contains the definition of the stereotypical "Used Car Salesmen." Everything was nice and good until I went to sign the papers. As we're signing the papers, I notice that my trade in is now valued at $6500, instead of $7200, as we had discussed the whole time. They screwed me for an additional $700 and when I complained they shrugged and dared me to "Walk away." They knew I wouldn't. It took too damn long and I had invested money and time. So I resolved to make sure as many people as possible knew the way they operate. Please, the best thing you can do is NOT BUY A CAR FROM THERE, unless you want to get screwed. I talked to a car salesman friend, and he said what they're doing is an old trick. I don't know how they sleep at night. More

I took my car in for scheduled maintenance. They said the timing belt might need to be replaced and I asked them to check it. They said it was "probably okay." They said the rear break pads were low and woul timing belt might need to be replaced and I asked them to check it. They said it was "probably okay." They said the rear break pads were low and would need to be changed soon. I signed off and took the car home, where it sat parked for a week. The next time I took it out, the broke down and I had to have it towed. Two different mechanics checked the car and reported a broken timing belt, damaged valves, and rear brake pads totally gone and rear rotors needed to be replaced. Went back to Audi Downtown and asked why they missed these problems. They say they found these problems but I declined recommended repairs. Not true. My car was in much worse shape then I was led to believe. I don't think they checked it carefully. It seems Audi Downtown did a quick review and just sent it back out-- and charged me a lot of money for the checkup. I tried to negotiate with the service manager to cover some of the needed repairs but he refused. Seriously, any gesture from them-- an oil-change voucher, anything-- would have helped ease the final bill which was over $3300. But the service manager refused to accept any responsibility for negligence. As a result, I cannot recommend Audi Downtown. I will never go to them again, and I discourage everyone from buying or servicing a car there. I found a great repair shop in North Hollywood-- Super Automotive. They service all kinds of cars, but specialize in European. Go there. Avoid the Audi Dealerships. Also, I've had more repair problems with my Audi than any other car I've owned. This seems to be fairly common among Audi owners. I think I'm done with Audi for good. More

After several weeks of horrible experiences in my attempt to purchased a used car from the dreaded USED CAR DEALERS, my experience at VW, Porsche, Audi of Downtown LA was a breath of fresh air. I was pickin to purchased a used car from the dreaded USED CAR DEALERS, my experience at VW, Porsche, Audi of Downtown LA was a breath of fresh air. I was picking up the car from an hour and a half away with less than perfect credit, so I went through Road Loans, a special financing plan that this dealership had never used before. Even though I tried to get there before this finance company closed, the traffic in LA was a nightmare and I didn't quite make it. The first thing that happened when I pulled up, I was greeted by a very friendly salesman who asked me to make myself at home and brought me a drink of water, first thing. Since I came from an hour and a half away, I brought a one-way Avis rental with me. The salesman offered to help me return my rental car to Avis and picked me up and brought me back to the dealership in his own (very cool) Porsche. It took a little time for the management to look over the paperwork and get the financing arranged, but all through it the salesmen would periodically come back and advise me why it was taking as long as it was. My salesman even checked the traffic for me on his phone to see how long it would take for me to get out of LA (which I wanted to do as quickly as possible) and which would be the best route for me to take. The salesman showed me the car, gave me an opportunity to inspect it and ask any questions I wanted. Their web site had already given me a free Carfax report showing me that the vehicle was a one-owner vehicle. And all of this when I was purchasing the car at 25%+ less than book price! After my weeks of high pressure and just plain gimmicks in trying to purchase a car, going to this dealership paid off. I highly recommend it, based upon my experience so far. More
