I dealt primarily with the VW side and was able to chat with three salesmen, the sales manager and the finance guy (Tom Wallentin). I physically visited twice, once to demo the auto I was interested in and the second was to complete the deal. During both visits, the entire Mattie team were low pressure and laid back, and had a true interest in automobiles....past and present. The process was so low pressure, each visit felt like hanging around with old buddies discussing everything automobiles. During our first visit, we accidentally showed up later on a Saturday afternoon (didn't realize the hours were shorted due to the pandemic) and two salesmen and the sales manager (Jon Tartaglione) actually looked happy to stay a bit later to accommodate my wife and I, even though most of the visit was just chatting. This friendliness was a primary reason why we continued the purchase process, and eventual sale, at Mattie Imports...and even though the dealership is located over an hour from our home. Because of Covid-19, there was also a lot of talk over the phone between visits. Our salesman, Chris Clark, was always accessible and kept me in constant update on all phases of negotiation, finance and delivery via phone call or text message. During each visit, the entire Mattie religiously followed all recommended safeguards for Covid by wearing masks, social distancing, and using hand sanitizer. The vehicle we purchased was a certified pre-owned from another long-time customer who traded up to a larger vehicle. After our engagement with the Mattie team, it made total sense that customers return to this dealership to continue their car buying business. If you are in the market for a VW or Audi (new or pre-owned) make sure you include Mattie Imports in your vehicle search process! More
