Mr. Labuz, Thank you for your recent feedback regarding your visit to Audi of Jacksonville. We regret that your experience with our store did not meet your expectations. We would like to review our records with you, so you have a clearer understanding of the chain of events. Unfortunately, we do not have a complete history of your vehicle repairs due to your choice to have it maintained at a non-Audi facility. We have provided the contact information for Audi of America in previous communications, but we want to make sure you have their telephone number: 800-822-2834. Audi Jacksonville and Audi of America are committed to customer service and quality of repairs. When you brought your vehicle to our service department in December 2012, your complaint was that the maintenance light for the coolant lamp was illuminated. We replaced the alternator pulley and did not charge you for the parts. At this point your mileage was 90,226. When you returned to our dealership in November 2013 your complaint was that the engine light was on. This was due to a defective crankcase ventilation system. At this point your vehicle mileage was at 100,407. When you came to the dealership in February 2014, you stated "there is a noise in the Engine or Transmission or Driveline that changes with the vehicle speed." This concern is different than either of the concerns from your previous two visits. We informed you (verbal and written) that based on test drive, by the technician, the sound in question was being emitted by the transmission. When we brought the vehicle into the shop we found the whole underside of the transmission showed signs of leakage. The transmission noise was due to the lack of transmission fluid. We indicated at that time the vehicle should not be driven or major damage would occur, including, but not limited to, transmission failure. We informed you at this time that the vehicle had internal transmission damage and would need the transmission replaced. Since you declined the recommended service we cleaned the area and replaced the transmission fluid to bring fluid levels back to recommended levels. At this point your mileage was 102,729. Our service Director communicated your concerns to Audi of America. To date, they have declined to financially contribute to the replacement of your vehicle’s transmission. We are willing to resubmit to Audi of America on your behalf, but we encourage you to call the number provided to follow up with them. In June 2013 Audi of America issued a bulletin for your vehicle concerning the Control Module only, not to replace a transmission.
