I had a very frustrating and costly experience with Auto Match Utah involving a 2023 Ford Transit Cargo Van. I was looking to purchase a vehicle from out of state. I am extremely disappointed with this deal Match Utah involving a 2023 Ford Transit Cargo Van. I was looking to purchase a vehicle from out of state. I am extremely disappointed with this dealership. I was working with a dealership representative over the phone. I informed them of my credit score of 770. During that initial conversation I was told that with my credit, I should expect an interest rate of around 5.5%. Based on this information, I put down a $2,000 deposit, which I was told was non-refundable. However, when it came time to finalize the financing, I was then informed that the interest rate would be 15%—almost triple what was initially discussed. This was a complete shock and felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. I refused to proceed with the purchase under these terms, but the dealership refused to return my deposit. This dealership was not transparent, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience. Warning to future customers: they will want to text you documentation to review, but the platform they use for mobile devices is challenging to navigate on your phone – so get it via email so you can read all the details before completing the form. Warning to future customers: if you are looking at a branded vehicle. Vehicles with branded titles usually come with much higher financing rates and increased insurance premiums. So even if they quote you a low interest rate do not expect that to be available to you because they do not offer in-house financing as suggested on their website. More
They “specialize” in rebuilt cars with a branded title. They don’t finance in house unless you want to pay a super high interest rate. So they tell you to go to your financial institution and it will be no problem getting a loan. Guess what? It’s a HUGE problem. Some banks don’t loan on them at all, and even if they do, you will have a higher interest rate, need a co-signer, and/or will not be able to finance the whole vehicle. The dealership gives you absolutely no indication of this, and even hints that maybe you should try to talk to someone you have a “good working relationship” with at your branch to pull some under the table illegal stuff. Not only was I was not able to get a loan on the car, so I had to return it, but because I had to apply for loans with multiple financial institutions, my credit score dropped 50 points in a week. And don’t even have a car to show for it. They can and will SCREW YOU OVER. They should be shut down for failure to disclose very important information to their buyers. Otherwise known as lying. Stay away from Alex, Mark, and Mike. More
Nice cars and nice people, but poor communication. I showed up to test drive a car (that I scheduled to drive about 5 days in advance) and they told me it was sold. I messaged again later that day, as I showed up to test drive a car (that I scheduled to drive about 5 days in advance) and they told me it was sold. I messaged again later that day, as the car was still showing up, and they said it was available. So I scheduled a test drive for the next day, and when I showed up, the same thing happened. “We sold it last night”. No attempt was made to contact me, to tell me that the car was sold. To top it off, when I came the first time, my Dad came with me because he knows a lot about cars. When we showed up, I started all the conversations, but they only talked to my Dad. I was ignored the whole time. It really put me off as a buyer. More
