He examined the car and agreed with my uneducated diagnosis, stating the problem was with my power steering. After taking the car to the garage, the car has a warranty for the power steering unit, where the tech said the problem was coming from. I took the car to the repair shop that worked on the power steering to have the car shop find the problem. It had nothing to do with the power steering but resided in the Rack-and-Pinion and a CVS boot. $237.30 for about 40 minute visit no repair nor a proper diagnosis of the problem. Not Happy WHATSOEVER! I'm about 99% sure I have no opportunity for a refund. More
Technician was excellent. Website was glichy and I had to call via phone. Pricing is a bit higher than going to an oil change place by $50.00. Website was glichy and I had to call via phone. Pricing is a bit higher than going to an oil change place by $50.00. More
I have never before used a mobile mechanic service, but called AutoNation when I returned from vacation and my car would not start. I identified the model and year of my Toyota, and said that the issue li called AutoNation when I returned from vacation and my car would not start. I identified the model and year of my Toyota, and said that the issue likely was a dead battery. The next day, a mechanic visited me and replaced the battery, but two months later, my car again would not start, at an important time. I called my insurer’s emergency road service. The technician who responded looked under the hood and saw the problem immediately. The battery installed by the AutoNation mechanic was the wrong size. It was too small and could not be secured properly in the battery tray. It had been moving around while I was driving, and eventually one battery post had dislodged from the terminal. I took my car that morning to the local Toyota dealership. The dealership’s service department removed the incorrect AutoNation battery and replaced it with one that was the proper size. I then called AutoNation for a refund and to return the too-small battery. I was told I needed to schedule a warranty visit, which I did. When the warranty tech arrived and saw the too-small battery, he conveyed his supervisor’s response that the best AutoNation could do is take out the brand new Toyota battery THAT I HAD JUST PAID FOR and replace it with a right-sized AutoNation battery. You have to be kidding. I refused to do this and asked to escalate the issue. What followed was three calls over the following week to a call center whose representatives communicated each time that the local operations manager would be informed, “no worries!” Yesterday I finally received a generic e-mail telling me that nothing would be done because AutoNation’s limited warranty was inapplicable to my situation. I can understand voiding a warranty by doing a repair on top of a repair, or by redoing a repair. But this wasn’t a repair. It was replacing a battery that an AutoNation mechanic had no business putting in my car in the first place. How hard would it have been on the first visit to simply say, “I don’t have the right size battery in the truck, I’ll need to have another one brought out”? And not only do I now have to pay for that battery, I have to pay for the “workmanship” that put it there. My experience was totally unacceptable. More
The technician kept me informed as to anticipated arrival to my residence. Very knowable and great job installing the brake pads and determined that the rotators were ok and the old pads were worn completely to my residence.
