I have extended maintenance on my car, but 2 filters and 2 "cleaners" were not covered. That cost was $300+. Seems like they ought to be covered. He told us more than once it was still covered by Toyota Care for 7 years and 100K miles and with the low mileage (less than 10k), I made arrangements with my father in law, because my husband is working out of town, to come with me and drive my 2013 Tundra back so I could give Alex a check for the down payment and pick up the SR5. I got the insurance in order and was there with my 6 year old around 130PM. He got the keys, got us a plate, and said he would get the rest of the paperwork in order while we test drove it. We got back and he was still working on the paperwork. We requested a second key and he went to get us a voucher for the second key once the fobs were back in stock and we agreed to come back with the truck and set the second key up. Previously, my husband had tried to make a counter offer and we were told that the price is the price. So we did not expect to have to sit like you normally would and play the negotiation game. After 45 minutes of sitting (and thank God my FIL didn't decide to head back to Pueblo), I went to go find Alex. He had mentioned there would be a recall notice in October and he was allegedly trying to get the details for that. He finally came back and sat down and that's when everything went downhill. He apparently thought he was just going to mention in passing that "because of the recall issue Toyota Care will not honor the 7 year 100K mile warranty", it would be 3 year 36K mile and blow right past that fact. At that point I looked at him and asked if I looked like an idiot to him. He immediately got up and got the Sales Director (?) who came over and tried to sell me the same xx. I told him that is not what we agreed to, and that if I had known that I would not have wasted my entire day and driven 100 miles. I would have walked away from the deal and kept looking. I told them if they weren't going to honor the agreement we had, I was going to walk. And that's exactly what I did. Once we left I called Alex back and asked him what made him think that I was going to accept that nonsense and he put me on the phone with the Director that sat down with us and that's when the conversation turned to flat out inappropriate. He mentioned immediately that he noticed I am a "believer" and he is as well. Apparently he saw mine and my 6 year old daughter's crosses on our necklaces and now instead of talking business I was being preached to by your Director. I told him that was wildly inappropriate and how dare he make this a religious situation. You all don't get to lie and then use God against me like I was in the wrong here. I offered him 31K$ for that truck and told him unless he was going to send that offer over the conversation was done and I hung up. As a side note, Alex did tell me when we first sat down, before they tried to take advantage of me, that they were holding a contest and if we could do a google review and give him 5 stars, he would really appreciate it. Not only do I intend to do multiple reviews and share my story with 1 star because you can't go lower than that, I intend to tell everyone I know to avoid your dealership like the plague. And just like I told your Director, there is a reason used car salesmen have a poor reputation, and your team did nothing but perpetuate that reputation. They should be shamed of themselves. I'm disappointed and disgusted at the complete disregard for my time, energy, and intelligence. If the car fax is correct, I can see why that truck has been on that lot almost 5 months at this point. Do better. More
