We are very pleased with the Toyota Highlander. It stands to be the most luxurious vehicle we have ever owned. We hope it remains reliable for many, many years, I have two comments that are somewhat critical of the dealership, but that seems to be what I am requested to do. We got essentially no guidance from anyone at the dealership as to how to operate this very complex automobile until we requested that someone show us a very few basic things such as how to expose the spare tire and how to open the back trunk lid. My main disappointment in the dealership is related to pricing, They claim they are not using the current era of supply chain disruption to charge more than list price for their vehicles. That is the way they look at it. Not me. In our case, we traded in a 10 year old Chrysler Town & Country van for which CarMax would pay $10,000, The dealership only paid us $8,000, AND, if we didn't sell it to them at a net $2,000 loss to us, THEN we could not buy the Highlander. To me, this is fully equivalent to selling the Highlander for $2,000 ABOVE list price. We had to agree to the deal to get the car. We agreed, we got the car, and we really like the car. We would probably do it again, under the same sellers-market conditions. However, to me, it still looks like I was forced to pay $2,000 more that list price for the car in order to get the car. More
