Visited Autonation Toyota Arapahoe for a routine oil change on my 2014 Toyota Avalon and didn’t have a good experience. My car hadn’t been driven around for about a week, as I out of town, so I had to j change on my 2014 Toyota Avalon and didn’t have a good experience. My car hadn’t been driven around for about a week, as I out of town, so I had to jump start the vehicle before coming in. The battery had lost quite a bit of charge and jump starting the vehicle caused the check engine light to come on due to low battery voltage. This isn’t a big deal and normally the check engine light turns off once the battery is recharged. When I arrived at Autonation Toyota, I was greeted by David, the service advisor who immediately tried to upsell me on a tire rotation (not needed as it had already been done for free at Discount Tire) and alignment (already done and not needed). I was quoted an exorbitant price of $110 for the oil change and offered a buy 3 oil change, pay $240 package. Instead, I used a $20 off coupon I had received in the mail. Afterwards, David was very pushy and tried to charge me $50 extra for just reading the code with a diagnostic scanner tool. I told David that the battery was weak, which triggered the check engine light and it wasn’t anything so was particularly concerned about. The car was running well (no dashboard lights before my trip and my diagnostic tool at home just said it was a P0335 code, which is often triggered by a weak battery. When I told David, I wasn’t interested in the extra service he suddenly became very rude and sour towards me. My car was started and shut off 3 times during the time it was in the service department and the battery drained out. Yet, the service techs refused to jump start the vehicle, despite the fact I had even mentioned that the service techs were welcome to use the portable jump starter in the back seat and made snarky comments about me being “cheap.” The vehicle is well maintained and has only 25,000 miles on it and has been working perfectly fine, no check engine lights and running smoothly. I got the battery recharged up to full at a local auto parts store within 6 hours. I often meticulously wash my car by hand, routinely and thoroughly clean the interior, and the car is otherwise in very good condition. A P0335 code (crankshaft position sensor) can easily be triggered by a weak battery and techs should have checked on that before freaking out and wondering why the car is dead (remember they moved the car several times and started and shut off the vehicle 3 times before servicing which probably drained the already low charged battery). Instead, the staff treated me like an idiot and claimed that my vehicle would fall apart if I didn’t purchase their upsells. If the P0335 code suddenly appears after a jump start and then goes away once the battery is back to full power and the alternator is working properly there’s nothing to worry about. This is exactly what happened in my case. Again, the Toyota expert mechanics should have known this. However, I got a bunch of inexperienced service techs who were just laughing and making snarky comments about me and my car. David was very rude and condescending and wanted to sell me extra services that I didn’t need and when I refused his upsell, he went from being polite to being extremely rude. I took my car to the dealership service center because I wanted the Toyota mechanics to take good care of my vehicle and use high quality motor oil. What I got was a bunch of unprofessional staff who were upset that I didn’t fall for their upsell. The staff and service techs knew the battery was low and I stated that they were welcome to use the portable jump starter which was lying in the back seat, however, they started and shut the car off 3 times before servicing and the battery got drained to the point where it wouldn’t start. David pushed very hard over the phone to do a diagnostic on the car. I appreciate that the service techs pushed my vehicle outside by hand, but there was no need to do so. They could have easily jump started my vehicle with the portable jump starter, another vehicle, or their large battery machine. When I arrived, I was able to use my portable jump starter to easily start the vehicle within 2 minutes! Why the “expert and highly trained” Toyota mechanics couldn’t do the exact same thing I did is beyond me. I went to Autonation Toyota because I have enjoyed my owning my car since it was new and wanted the best possible care and service. Instead, I got my oil changed by a bunch of highly unprofessional service techs and a pushy salesman/service advisor. More

They called to tell me my car is ready, but when I show up the work is incomplete for recall work since they forgot to put back a part that was laying in the driver side floor. Hard to find trust in this dealership’s service department when they have quality control issues. More

They must have opened them to bleed out air, but forgot to tighten them back up. One flat is a hassle, two was a major inconvenience. More
