Took my car for service, picked it up and my check engine light was on, had to take it back the next morning and they had to reattach something that was loose and they actually brought my car back to me. Just a bit frustrated that my car was released to me with these lights on, wondering if anyone actually checked it or looked at it before calling me to let me know it was ready. They had my car for almost a month for a transmission replaced and got my car back so dirty that it look like I was picking up my car from a junk yard. I brought my car for a manufacturer’s defect, to see if it’s covered with the warranty. I explained to the Service Advisor that whenever it’s hot or parked under the sun, the radio system’s screen comes of it’s covered with the warranty. I explained to the Service Advisor that whenever it’s hot or parked under the sun, the radio system’s screen comes off. She immediately assumed that I got into an accident, that maybe somebody bumped into it really hard, that maybe my elbow or somebody else’s hit the radio system for it to come off and that I bought my car more than a year ago so she wondered why it just started happening, that if it’s a manufacturer’s defect it should have happened right away. I told her I wasn’t expecting for it to happen, and never had that experience before, that I was always parked in the shade, but I cannot always guarantee I can do that. And since I have to constantly park my car under the sun, I have to make sure it won’t happen again or avoid it from completely coming off. But I also didn’t want to void the warranty if it really is covered. I showed her a video of what it looks like and she made a face like she didn’t believe me. I even showed her a statement from another Toyota dealer that they confirmed it, because they parked it under the sun for hours, but I was told to take it to the dealer where I bought the car which is the AutoNation Toyota Cerritos so they can review the warranty. The Service Advisor and the manager at Toyota Orange were very helpful, they were understanding, and they handled it professionally instead of assuming although they were not able to help me at that time, I’ve always had great experience with them. Anyway, she then spoke to her manager, and came back saying “my manager said we’ll have to keep the car for hours to see the problem, and we’ll contact Toyota about the warranty.” I came back in the afternoon to pick it up, that Service Advisor was so rude when I was walking towards her, she walked away and told her co-worker to deal with me. She was not only rude, but also assumed that I did it to my car. They said they will call me back about the warranty, but they never did. I love my car, but Amanda Maldonado was not very helpful unlike the other Service Advisors that helped me back then. She asked me if I was going to wait or go home. I said I’m going home, because I don’t know how long it’ll take and I have work. I waited for her to tell me if there was a shuttle to get back, she didn’t say anything until I asked her and she told me “well, it’s only for 10 miles. It felt like I went there for nothing. I’m hoping next time before she assume that she actually listen to the customer’s concern, and if she doesn’t like her job, if she don’t like to deal with people, just quit. It’s honestly not hard to be nice to people and help them when they need it. I tried to understand where she was coming from, but her actions were not acceptable. I hope she learns from it and never do that to anyone ever again. More
