I have been dragging my feet on getting a new car for years. I called to get some information and worked with Joe Deanda at AutoNation Toyota in South Austin and he made the process so easy. Bait and Switch and then still screwed me a bit more! . I negotiated a deal online, agreed on the car/price, and went to the dealership to test drive and buy the car. Everything was going great until I go . I negotiated a deal online, agreed on the car/price, and went to the dealership to test drive and buy the car. Everything was going great until I got to the last few signatures. They added a security and protection package at the end for almost $1000 and said it was mandatory. It was never mentioned and was not shown in the original price/deal sheet. AND, none of it had yet to be "installed" on the car. After relenting, we went through the back office finance work and got everything signed. However the car was not ready so I would need to return the next day to pick it up. The next day, I arrived to pick up the car and another sales person handed over the keys. When I got home I realized all that extra crap that they sold me was never installed. It was just a ruse to increase their margin on the sale. I will never set foot in that dealership again. More

We did not end up trading in our Highlander, but the AutoNation trade-in value was higher than online buying services and it was good to have that option.
