Extremely dissatisfied with our experience purchasing a pre owned 2026 Toyota Crown from AutoNation Toyota Tempe. We test drove the vehicle we found online and addressed concerns about the condition before purchasing. The vehicle had visible side swipe paint damage, scratches, a loose/broken middle armrest console, and cleanliness issues throughout the interior. Another frustrating part of this experience was pricing transparency. While online shopping, we found the vehicle through Sam’s Club pricing and promotions, but once at the dealership we were told the online pricing was “wrong” and that pre-owned vehicles could not be negotiated the same way. At that point, it honestly felt misleading and dishonest compared to what was advertised online. On Saturday, Max Gonzalez specifically told us to return Monday when the dealership was less busy so all concerns could be properly addressed and fixed. However, Monday was the complete opposite experience. After driving 40 minutes to the dealership and waiting for hours, the car was returned looking nearly identical to how we brought it in. The cup holders were still dirty, the middle console piece was still broken, and the vehicle still looked poorly detailed. What made the situation worse was the dismissive attitude after the sale was completed. Max suddenly acted uninterested in resolving anything and then informed us the paint needed for the side swipe damage was backordered for two months. If that was already known, why were we told Saturday to come back Monday expecting repairs and resolution? It felt like our time was completely wasted. To make matters worse, after leaving the dealership we discovered another customer’s old license plate left in the backseat of our newly purchased vehicle. We had to turn around and drive back to the dealership to return it, and staff did not even know who it belonged to. That situation alone showed the complete lack of attention to detail and care throughout this process. The finance experience with the lady handling our paperwork was also very disappointing and distasteful due to the dismissive and rude tone throughout the process, to the point another financial institution representative even commented on it during verification. Overall, this entire experience has been frustrating, misleading, and far below the level of professionalism we expected. More
