Do not trust this dealership! Less than 3 months after buying a car (only 800 miles driven), the engine failed and cost me $6,000. They promised they’d take the car back if someth More

Autosport USA cares about our customers and offered multiple ways to fix this issue for the customer even though the car was out of warranty and the customer declined to purchase an extended warranty. The car came with a 30 day or 1,000 mile power train warranty. The customer came back with the issue car 90 days after the car was purchased and the warranty was expired. Due to the contract and the customer not wanting to purchase an additional warranty, we are not responsible to fix the automobile, but still offered to do so. We offered to repair the vehicle with our mechanic and this did not satisfy the customer. She wanted the vehicle fixed elsewhere with an estimate that was double the cost of our mechanic. Since this solution didn’t satisfy the customer, we offered to take the car back as a trade, and this didn’t satisfy her either. Instead she kept making threats to our business while we were trying to come up with a solution so we disengaged. Again we were not responsible to fix this due to the contract that was signed, but we still tried to work with her and offer her solutions none of which she wanted to accept.

Your response leaves out critical facts. The car had barely passed 3 months when the engine failed, and it had only been driven 800 miles. That is not normal use — that is selling a defective vehicle. You’re trying to hide behind a technicality of the warranty, but this is exactly the kind of catastrophic issue you promised would be “made right” when I bought the car. I was never offered an extended warranty. What you did offer was to repair the car with your mechanic — at my cost — using a used engine, with a 30-day lead time, and requiring me to tow the car more than an hour away. This would have been a logistical nightmare. Since this is my 17-year-old son’s car, safety was my top priority. A used engine with a month wait was not an acceptable solution. When I asked if I could return the car and trade for another vehicle of equal value on your lot, you told me I’d need to pay an additional $5,000 because my car now had “no value.” Instead, you offered $1,000 to “make things right,” which I accepted — but then you dodged me for weeks. Calls went unanswered, messages weren’t returned, and whenever I did reach someone, I was told “Sal will call you back.” He never once did. Even after I demanded in writing that you honor your own offer, I received no response. As for your claim that I made “threats” — I assume you’re referring to the email I sent long after you stopped returning my calls. Never once was I rude, demanding, or unreasonable throughout this entire process. Only after patiently waiting another month did I finally post this review. You are trying to make this sound like I was unreasonable, but the truth is simple: you sold a defective car, promised to make it right, then failed to follow through.
