The sales experience was OK but the sales rep, finance dept, and service all came up short. When discussing accessory options, the sales rep strongly encouraged me to have the roof cross rails instal dept, and service all came up short. When discussing accessory options, the sales rep strongly encouraged me to have the roof cross rails installed by the service dept due to the complicated install requiring drilling and sealing. This was patently UNTRUE as I found out afterwards, installation utilized predrilled holes and supplied hardware. That easy task cost me $250. Also, when dropping off my Equinox for the trailer hitch installation, I specifically asked the service advisor what to expect in regards to the final fit and finish. He SPECULATED there was a trim piece that would present a smooth look - which was not at all the case. When the vehicle was delivered to me, the hitch was nicely mounted but the trailer light cable was just dangling along side the receiver. When I asked about this, Shaun said he would discuss my concerns with the Service Manager - but I was ultimately told "that's the way it is" but I was welcome to visit the 3rd party vendor who installed this hitch to see what could be done. A short visit and $20 later, Nomad Trailers had installed a very professional bracket to securely mount the trailer cable. An item that should have been included in the initial package (IMO). When presented with the trailer hitch options, the sales rep stated he told me the package would be installed by a 3rd party shop and not a Chevy product, a part of the conversation I did not recall and never came up again until I dropped it off at service and they mentioned sending it out to another location. On a Saturday afternoon, three weeks after taking delivery, I was pulled over by a Deputy Sheriff for speeding. During the course of the stop, the Deputy stated there was no record of my vehicle in the WA Dept of Licensing (DOL) database, either by the temp plate number nor the VIN. Thankfully, I still had the entire sales paperwork packet in my glovebox which proved that I had legally owned the vehicle - or I don't know how that stop would have ended. The Deputy, after reviewing all the documents, stated he would not cite me for no current registration since that appeared to be an issue with the dealership and not my fault. I returned to Awesome Chevy the first thing Monday morning and spoke to Janelle about this problem. She sent an email to several of the dealership staff and said I would received a call by end of day. When I had not received a call by Wednesday morning, I returned to the dealership. Another sales rep checked and found out that when finance was processing the plate application, the submit button was not clicked and the data not transmitted to the WA DOL. I was told this error was easily corrected on Monday and he didn't know why I has not been contacted about the resolution. The lack of communication seems to be a constant issue with my sales experience and several requests to speak with managers have gone nowhere. They are always "busy" - whether on a call, in a meeting, or off property. I feel it's more of a very effective screening by whomever I was speaking with at that moment. More
