If I could rate lower I would. SCAM! Be prepared for the price you see online to go up astronomically before you get out the door after you have wasted hours. My husband and I SCAM! Be prepared for the price you see online to go up astronomically before you get out the door after you have wasted hours. My husband and I drove in from out of state for our scheduled appointment after speaking with the dealership all week about the vehicle we were interested in. The staff was super helpful, the car was ready for us and beautiful just as pictured. We then took it for a test drive and everything seemed great. Completed initial paperwork so dealership could write up the bottom line. This is where things went south. As second salesman who never introduced himself then came over. The list price of the vehicle was 14,498. So a new guy comes out and tells me my monthly payment is going to be $380. This was about $100 more than I thought it should be based on my calculations. So I ask what the rate was. They never did tell me, just told me about 10%. Then I asked what the bottom line was. They told me after my $2500 down payment I would ONLY owe $18,xxx. I'm sorry. AFTER my $2500 down payment the cost will be that much. At this point they still haven't shown me why so much, so I asked to see a written breakdown of the price. $14,498 - vehicle price $4,000+ "value added services!" $1700 ish - title/doc fees $1000 ish - sales tax Total out the door was over $21,000!!!!! They tried to tell me this was normal and that all dealerships do it. The "value added services" (they were telling me this was more cosmetic coverage and theft protection) could not be removed, as they were part of the dealer fees and if they removed them they would have to add on $3900 in dealer fees and I would get no "value" from that. Then they asked what did I expect? 14,498 was below market value. I'm sorry. No. All dealerships do not add 39% in dealership fees beyond taxes. And are you seriously admitting to me that you have extra fees because your list price is below market value. I was prepared to pay dealer fees. I was prepared tax and doc fees. Even some dealer fees would have been reasonable but 38% in fees is astronomical. We did not walk away from the car, we walked away from the refusal to remove the "value added services." These were over and above dealer fees and should be optional. The car was great. Our initial salesman, Angel was wonderful and all you could ever ask for in a salesman. Lucas who helped me during the week was great. The only thing I felt bad about in this whole process was that these two didn't make my commission because as helpful as they were, I wanted them to make my sale. More
