I worked with another salesman at BMW first and felt that my business wasn't important to him because I was looking at a 2011 used car instead of a new one. I really liked the car but felt that the salesperson treated me like a waste of his time. I had decided to go elsewhere and I mentioned it to a friend who had just purchased a new BMW. She highly recommended John Brown at the same dealership. What a huge difference! John was warm, friendly and really listened to what I needed/wanted. He did everything in his power to get me what I wanted and spent considerable time working with me. Even after the sale, John goes out of his way to help me. I feel like he is a friend who wants me to build a relationship with BMW and be a long-term customer and not someone who is only interested in the commission in that one sale. John Brown is excellent. If you're looking to buy a car, ask for him by name and wait for him if he's busy. He's that good. Harry Hellmer handled the financing and purchasing details and he was excellent as well. He patiently waited for me to make decisions and explained everything to me. Harry worked with me to get the payments I could afford and we talked and laughed over personal stories of past mistakes. When I thought we had to redo all the paperwork, Harry not only didn't complain, but worked on his own to find ways to save me time and effort. When I went in for my gloss-coat treatment after owning the car for two weeks, I was treated like an MVP customer as if I'd purchased the most expensive car on the lot. Harry and John made a point to come out and say hello and make sure I was happy with my beautiful BMW. They even tracked down the technical expert to answer my question about the seatbelt! Due to my loyalty to Performance BMW of Chapel Hill I was very doubtful and highly anxious. John listened while I expressed my concerns, which made me as a client feel more comfortable with my purchase. Colleen Oleary worked very hard for me in the financing department. This lady is a shark when it comes to getting you the best deal. My sales team "John B and Colleen O" went over and beyond for me. I would certainly recommend Leith to my friends and family. This is the second time we bought a BMW car at Leigh BMW, Raleigh, NC. The first was a 535 series and just recently, X1 xdrive SAV. The process took two months since the car was assembled and delivered from Germany. While waiting, John kept us up to date with the progress of the order. His detailed attention, down to earth character and professionalism made our car purchasing a pleasant and stress free experience. I rated David Malette and Leith BMW at the highest rate possible becase of the service I received! Purchasing a vehicle can be very tasking, confusing and painstaking to say the least; however my experience with David Malette at Leith BMW in Raleigh, North Carolina was simply amazing! He was very knowledgeable, patient, and customer service oriented. He took the time to listen to my concerns and discuss with me what I wanted in a vehicle. My wife and I purchased a used 2008 BMW 328i from Leith BMW last year. The car had BMW CPO coverage which the salesman said extended the manufacturers warranty for three additional years including free sc BMW last year. The car had BMW CPO coverage which the salesman said extended the manufacturers warranty for three additional years including free scheduled maintenance. When I brought the car in for regular maintenance, we were told an oil change would be $330.00 and not covered by CPO! Obviously we were misled by their salesman. When I complained, the salesmanager implied that I was lying. They were sweet taking our money at purchase time and rude when it was service time. Please beware of this disreputable dealership for sales and service practices. More
Our X3 had developed a rattle in the exhaust system, I also spoke to the service rep about a wire that is protruding from the passenger seat which will eventually cause a hole. When we went to leave we started the car and the rattling in the muffler had not changed. He called 2 other people to look and listen, before the Team Leader decided we needed a new exhaust tail piece. The whole time I described the problems to Mr Akers he nodded his head and told me that the problems I am experiencing with my BMW were normal. It's a 2008 with 40k miles and we have not had a problem with it. Any time we took the car to BMW of Asheville for service they would also point out items they fixed beside doing the warranty work. The difference between BMW of Ashville and Leith BMW is like day and nite. Ashville listened to us and handled the problem, Leith listened and told us nothing was wrong. More

The service was wonderful. I was having an issue with my car. It was fixed and I was back on the road in no time. It's absolutely amazing to me that BMW NA continues to allow this company to maintain a BMW franchise. Kelly Barbour is an absolute joke as a Svc. Mngr. He can't even look you in the eye when talking to you as he knows what utter BS he's spewing because of the company line. It's a shame as this is the 3rd and LAST BMW I will ever own. They could care less about this review or my business, but If I can save one person from doing business with these guys it will be worth it. They had my car for repairs(which included software updates they claim didn't exist until I had to print out the documents online and show them) and when they returned my car, it was filthy and the interior had been scratched and scarred. Don't do business with these folks, you will regret. All of these reviewers can't be wrong. More
