I had the worst car buying experience I ever encounter at any Nissian dealership. The salesman was was unethical and lied throughout the entire process . I recently purchased a 2016 Nissan Rouge from Banister Nissan and I must say this was by far the best car buying experience I've ever had. My sales associate Reggie Ferebee did phenomenal job. I gave him Nissan and I must say this was by far the best car buying experience I've ever had. My sales associate Reggie Ferebee did phenomenal job. I gave him my price range & budget & he worked miracles. I was very satisfied with my purchase. Kudos to Reggie and the entire Banister Nissan staff for their excellent customer service. If you're looking for a new or used vehicle I highly recommend Banister Nissan. More
After three vehicles, Banister has lost a customer for life Our Nissan Pathfinder was recalled for brake work with two months left on our lease. We dropped the car off at Banister of Norfolk for the work and picked it up a few days later. The next morning, when my wife was driving our two kids to school, the brakes failed. Repeat: THE BRAKES FAILED. The day after Bannister of Norfolk “fixed” them. IN A RECALL. Thankfully, my wife and kids were on a secondary road, and no one was physically hurt. The car was towed back to Banister, where it sat until the end of its lease. The service team never fixed or even diagnosed the problem. Even worse: They never acknowledged their gross negligence. In fact, the only time they communicated with us was when we reached out to them. This is customer service? We had planned to buy the vehicle outright at the end of the lease, but my wife decided she didn’t want to drive it again—even if it was fixed. We asked Banister if we could walk away from the lease. They made our final monthly payment but refused to pay the end-of-lease balance, which was in excess of $1,000, despite us being thousands of miles under our allowance--not to mention not even having possession of the vehicle to address any cosmetic issues. Sure, the fee probably would have been reduced—or even waived—if we bought or leased another Nissan, but who would want to after this experience? We called and emailed dozens of times, but no one was willing to help. The dealer passed the buck to “corporate,” and corporate passed it to Nissan Finance. This was our third vehicle bought or purchased from Banister, and it will obviously be our last. We have already upgraded to a Honda. If you were the dealer in this situation, wouldn’t you write off the $1,000 just to make this situation right? Horrible experience. I had to make to separate appointments for Va. state inspection. First appointment I had an 4 hour wait. Second appointment.. I was placed on hold for 28 minutes. However my last visit I was told I had Axel leak and transmission leak. The merchanic showed me the leak, dripping. However nothing in my driveway from either. Three certified merchanics checked my car found no leaks on either. I contacted recall center was told to get diastolic on transmission and they would cover it. At this point I don't think I'll returning to Bannister as I lost trust in there service department. Sorry no more trust 10 years of service and dedication gone .always gave excellent rating this is do disappointing. More

I hope the Content Moderation Team reads this again. I have removed everything you thought was a violation which I know it wasn’t….I was just telling the truth. Again I've been a loyal customer of this dealership since 2005, first as Green Gifford Nissan and then Charles Barker Nissan and I have received the greatest sales/service under both those name through many years. I did continue my service here when it became Nissan of Norfolk and have also purchase another vehicle there as well. I'm the owner of three Nissan model and there's a total of 7-8 in my family which have purchase at this location. My experience with the new BANISTER NISSAN service department I must say it's hard to describe since the name change. They are not truthful and will tell you stuff is wrong and cannot show proof of what’s was wrong, no diagnostic printout nothing, they avoid that question when you ask and just want you to take their word for it then in the end they ask for good survey. My suggestion is ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION AND YOU WILL SAVE BIG $$$$ I did by making a call to another dealer while I'm there. They try to sell me a part for $1100 through the service dept. that the other dealer is selling for under $500 so my quote went from almost $2000 parts and labor to saving of $800. It has become my worst Nissan Service experience they pray on people that don't know. Their service advisers don't know the product and they are train to up sell you on what you don't need. Their Service Manager is not truthful, he will look you in your face and do just that ........I guess that's what Banister is all about these days. I have since taken my business to HALL NISSAN about 10 miles from my home now verses to 2.5 miles from THIS place. They have also removed my email address that's been in their system for over 14 years so I don't get any survey and NISSAN Corporation will not find out what they did to me. Banister I will take my service elsewhere. I guess you will ask to have this remove this again….THE Truth More
