Horrible service department, provide you with a quote over the phone listing repairs and warranty coverage and providing completion date... All of which were not even close to the actual. I have purchased in my life probably 20 + cars , Clear Lake Chrysler is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. If you speak with others in the industry , they all know about this dealership and how they treat customers. They can’t even put your correct e mail in their system but not because they can’t type, but because they know that Chrysler corporate will reach out for a survey of the dealership and they do not want a bad mark so they put phony emails so when Chrysler sends out the survey, no one responds and they don’t look bad. Oldest trick in the book. Read the reviews from anywhere on this dealer. They are almost all 1 star, and there is a common theme for most. However, it is not so much the sales side ( my experience there was not so bad until I met their back of house finance folks who are stereotypical crappy , sleazy car dealer guys) but their service department is not only incompetent, but most of them ( not all ) make you feel like you are bothering them. I never brought my vehicle in 1 time to be repaired, ( and that was always at least 1 week in the shop) You. Would always have to bring it in for the same thing multiple times and many times you would have to have new things added to the repair list. Once, my vehicle was in their shop 7 weeks and when it was returned, it still was not fixed !! Basically , I would give them zero stars if possible, but the one star given was for the few folks there that did seem to care. Based on the fact that there is only bad reviews for this dealer( or at least 99% are bad) I would assume that the ownership either can’t read, doesn’t care, to busy with their other dealerships , because the reviews for these guys have been bad for years and everyone I have spoken with has said that as well. I guess they make money or they would close their doors. The management often responds to these reviews with the same canned email. Sorry to say, but I will never buy or do business with them and will be sure and spread the word around to avoid them to all my friends . More
I have now had my 2020 Grand Cherokee at the repair facility 4 times for the same issue. Each time they have kept it for at least a week. They don’t answer phones or return calls. Worse buying experience of my life. Although the service department for warranty work makes it seem a little less bad. Because it is a whole new level of bad. If you have to put your car in for warranty w department for warranty work makes it seem a little less bad. Because it is a whole new level of bad. If you have to put your car in for warranty work even though it is a brand-new car. There are no loners. And just because you have an appointment and a promise of no more than a two day turnaround. It does not mean anything. Don't waste your time at this dealership. More
I have had nothing but problems with my Ram for 5 years since I bought it, something I wouldn’t expect from a $40k truck. Every single time I’ve taken it to the service department, it has “magically” never since I bought it, something I wouldn’t expect from a $40k truck. Every single time I’ve taken it to the service department, it has “magically” never been covered under the upgraded warranty I bought. The last time I brought it in, they quoted me an exorbitant amount to fix the brakes and when I tried to get my truck back, they stated it wasn’t safe to drive. The tow truck I had to purchase and kwik kar I took it to both stated the truck could have been driven safely. This place was trying to jack up the price I would have to pay so I would pay their insane high price gouge. More
Bad workmanship Two years ago Clear Lake Dodge had to replace the cam in my 2012 SRT8 Yellowjacket. It was warranty work. They replaced the cam because of a defective Two years ago Clear Lake Dodge had to replace the cam in my 2012 SRT8 Yellowjacket. It was warranty work. They replaced the cam because of a defective lifter. I asked if they replaced all lifters with the new cam & they said no, only one lifter was replaced. The other lifters & cam were still good & pictures were sent to Dodge engineers. They lied because this engine has only one cam. Their own service manual states that if cam is replaced all lifters must be replaced. Now, 18,000 miles later cam is bad again & I’m told I need a new engine at 70,000 miles. Of course this isn't covered by warranty. The car has a trade in of $20,000 & they want $10,000 for a motor replacement. & good luck contacting them, they won’t answer the phone once they have your car. Wouldn’t recommend this dealership. More
